BAIT-AND-SWITCH WARNING: UNETHICAL DEALERSHIP Westchester Toyota engaged in predatory bait-and-switch tactics with my transaction. I locked in an itemized out-the-door price of exactly $27,852.71 in writing via email with their digital sales team (Kenny) for a brand-new 2026 Corolla LE Hybrid. Trusting their written commitment that this vehicle was ready for my appointment the next morning, I submitted my formal credit application directly through their secure portal. They successfully pulled my credit, scoring me as a Tier-1 789 FICO buyer, and I had my $10,000 cash down payment check ready for my scheduled 11:00 AM delivery appointment. At 5:00 PM the night before delivery--AFTER they had already run my credit and taken my personal data--they called to claim the car was suddenly 'sold' and canceled my appointment. When I requested that they locate an identical model to honor the locked price and the credit pull, they refused to honor the numbers and demanded that I walk into the showroom without a price agreement to negotiate higher terms. Taking a hard inquiry on a buyer's credit report under a locked price and then changing the terms is highly disreputable. If you value your credit score and your time, stay far away from this dealership. They will pull the rug out the moment they realize you are an educated buyer who refuses to buy their overpriced backend warranties.
