I bought a Chevrolet over the phone and made a 8 hour drive to pick it up. Everything was better than expected, still under warranty and in perfect condition. This is the third car from Great Lakes and there will be more

All I have to say is BUYER BEWARE! It's very long story, but needless to say, buying a car at Great Lakes was a huge mistake. The car had issues within 24 hours it came off the lot. They accused my son of putting the wrong type of gas in the car as the cause of the engine issues. He is a professional driver, so knows exactly what type of gas to put in any given vehicle. He chose to take the car to a qualified mechanic, not trusting Great Lakes, and it was the fuel pump, not bad gas! So, do your homework and read all the reviews, as there appears to be a pattern here with integrity, poor customer service, and sub-standard vehicles.

I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW BECAUSE, AT THIS POINT, I HAVE NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO LET YOU ALL KNOW WHAT KIND OF TRASH THESE PEOPLE ARE. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND FRAUDULENT AND WILL DENY THAT THEY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANY ISSUES THAT ARISE AFTER YOU DRIVE OFF THEIR LOT!! I have paid Dave and his wife, Dawn, over $8,000 for this junkyard job. All of the parts on my car were supposed to be replaced with NEW parts and the car was supposed to be in the same condition it was in before the accident that took place on September 22, 2021. Not only did I not get my car back until November, after having to pay $1800 for a rental because they took so long to complete the job, I ended up back at the shop because the work was not completed. The FIRST time I dropped it off, there was tar on the front passenger side door that was obviously a mistake that hadn't been cleaned up. When I mentioned this to Dave he said that he didn't know how the tar got there and that the front passenger door was not touched. He agreed to remove the tar and I was grateful. Additionally, there had been yellow glue on the roof of the car near the back glass as well as on the decals. When I pointed this out, he told me it was tree sap and that I must have parked under a tree but that he would remove it -- as if he was doing me a favor. I hadn't driven anywhere but home and there are no trees over my driveway and, SURPRISE, as you would imagine, there are NO TREES IN MY GARAGE, so it beats me. The back glass was originally placed improperly and I was informed it would be reset. Additionally, there was white residue all over the inside of my car that you could see from outside of the back glass by the break light. He tried to remove it, however, the job was not clean. The speakers rattled regularly while I had the car the first time around and when I brought it up to him he once again said his favorite words, "I didn't touch the [speakers]." Lastly (for this first experience), I HAVE THE WRONG BUMPER ON MY CAR!!!!! SEE MORE...

We went in with all the confidence in the world. I even wrote them a good review. Well then the Infiniti we purchased after flooding with gas and a leak the first night. Flash forward to 2 months and the car is on the side of 96 in sub zero temps . We had the car towed and after weeks being sent to suburban Infiniti they tell us it needs a whole new engine. That the engine wasn’t even the original engine but a junk yard engine. If I hadn’t bought a warranty I would be out 19,548 on a car that still has a 29,000 loan on it. The lack of communication or responsibility is appalling. One of the owners was supposed to be my friend so imagine how they treat strangers. I asked if the cars had been inspected they swore they were which is a lie. Like what kind of people do this and we aren’t the only ones who have been taken. Avoid them like the plague.

Dave is genuinely the worst, do not recommend. Would give zero stars if possible. The experience ruined my day, and possibly my life. Sad day.

I brought a car within a couple of hours with Michelle Langley. She was nice and very informative. I’d definitely recommend anyone who wants to buy a car to check them out!

Hi folks, I'm Trevor Thompson, I live in Farmington Hills, Michigan. I have been covering the Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, Lions and every other sport that moves, for Fox Sports Detroit, (now Bally Sports) for the past 21 years. Those of you who know me from my work there, or who follow me on my social media platforms, know that I am a very chill, laid-back, easy-going, fun-loving, kind of guy. For those of you who don't know or follow me, I'm a very chill, laid-back, easy-going, fun-loving kind of guy - until I'm not. And after dealing with Dave, at Great Lakes Auto Superstore, I am anything but chill! I am disturbed and deeply disappointed to the point where I feel I need to share my experience with all of you in the hopes that you can avoid the pitfalls of this place. And this really isn't even about me. It's about the experience my wife and I had trying to buy a car for our son. We made this mistake of trusting, Dave, and taking him at his word. That's when we found he is the embodiment of that prototypical, shady, deceitful, "used car salesman" on that lot we all dread coming across. I'll save you the blow by blow details of the 2 month period of back and forth we had trying to the right the wrongs this man's deceitfulness took us through and simply tell you what I told him in our last phone conversation: "I do not trust," him. He, "flat out lied to our faces several times on several issues relating to the purchase and service of the vehicle" we bought from him. In trying to find a replacement vehicle for the defective merchandise he sold us, "we took SEVERAL OTHER CARS to our mechanic to be look over, and every single one of them had SIGNIFICANT, AND COSTLY issues that he easily spotted." I took us 2 months to find a car that was actually worth exchanging for the original piece of junk we were sold. I told him, and I'm tell you, Dave "does not sell quality products at Great Lakes Auto Superstore, and it is a crying shame that you can spend $10 - $15,000 or more on a car off that lot, and the first thing you have to do once you leave the lot, is drive straight to your mechanic to get it fixed!" I've been doing business in this community for the past 20 years, and this is the single worst dealing / experience I've come across in all that time. In fact, this is the first review of this kind I've ever written... I'm a pretty chill guy. But if you're looking for a used car, or know anyone who is, feel free to shop wherever you like, but if you're dealing with Dave, or Great Lakes Auto Superstore, consider this a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood sportscaster... "BUYER BEWARE!" Sincerely, Trevor Thompson
