FEES, FRAUDS, AND LEMONS

Let me start off by saying I did indeed purchase a vehicle here with my brother which has been driven 3 days of the 20 days I now own the vehicle and to say the least it has been a complete NIGHTMARE. It started with the classic price switch up. We inquired about a vehicle which was a specific price in the budget we wanted to stay in. And I am a very easy going customer I understand everyone has to make money. So we looked at the price and the thousands of dollars they were adding on in their fees so we agreed to pay 2500 of it. This fee referred to as PDSI, meaning PRE DELIVERY SAFETY INSPECTION. AFTER GETTING THE CAR IT HAD BAD BRAKES, AND OVER 8 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES!!! AND NOW SITTING IN RAY CATENA SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A WHOLE NEW RADIATOR!!! When we went to go see the car of course the vehicle was no where near the condition in the pictures. With paintwork done as if Picasso himself painted it with a brush. A trunk misaligned and rear bumper clips missing and out of place. The manager GEORGE agreed to getting it all fixed before we took delivery of the car. We agreed and made the deal. Signed for the vehicle earlier that week, took delivery of the vehicle about 2-3 days later. 10 minutes into driving the car the brake light came on and we contacted George directly and he said he will look into it. Mind you it was a Saturday night so we couldn't take it back right away. Sunday driving the car from NJ to the city, the check engine light came on, the vehicle would randomly misfire and at one point stalled out at a stop sign. go figure a 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG original MSRP $135k, now worth about $70k (which we paid), stalls out ? ALARMING! My brother takes the car back Monday morning and offers to return it back, they can keep the trade in there which we sold to them for 5k less then market value in MINT condition 17k miles not one service issue with the vehicle. We offered to keep our business there and just purchase a different car. After agreeing to that, they then changed their mind and said since we have a 60 day warranty from them, they would cover the costs of repairing the brakes and check engine lights etc. 2 WEEKS LATER we are told the cars ready. No follow up unless we bugged for hours to give us an update. We were provided with a loaner vehicle which we were using. But I'm sorry to say the least we did not work this hard to drive a Nissan Sentra to work and back but in comfort in a Mercedes we agree to pay almost $1100 a month for. SALES MANAGER GEORGE, agreed to reimbursing us our car payment over the phone he then second guessed it and almost went back on his word. 20 days later the car is now at Ray Catena getting an entire radiator job done and I am liable for a $1600 bill before I pickup my car. When telling George I need to reimbursed for this due to the fact I am still under their warranty, I paid their bulls*** PDSI fees and I can not trust their service department due to the fact the car has so many issues after sitting in their lot for 30 days and going through their shop multiple times before I purchased it. I have gotten no answer back! GEORGE THE SALES MANAGER, went as far as accusing us of tampering with the vehicle, and then trying to say our trade in had issues etc. Then trying to strong arm us and say the only way were getting reimbursed for the payment and radiator work is if we sign a release which releases RT23 NISSAN from being liable for any other issues with this vehicle. NOT HAPPENING. After reviewing our paperwork we saw the fees were not itemized and showed and instead gauged into the total sales price. I have contacted my team of lawyers as of this morning because this is most definitely not the first time a dealer sold us a bad car and tried to get away with it and mistreated us as clients.

Their price was amazing, but it was too good to be true. In addition to standard documentation charge, they had a $3500.00 "Dealer Fee" that was unbelievable to hear. Even adjusting for the dealer fee, it was still a good deal. Then they estimated my trade (since I am in GA) and they were a full $8000 less than the other dealers I was working with. Be very careful with their pricing method. It grabs attention, but they are anything but transparent.

Seriously, don't waste a trip. This dealer seems to only be interested in selling cars to suckers. I recognize that most dealers advertise one price and then hit you with dicey fees once it's time to settle on a price, but these guys take that to a new level. I went to see a car that was advertised for about 20K. After wasting a bunch of time listening to how tight the market is and how I don't know anything about car prices, and how much work had to be put into the car (which had less than 50K miles on it, so how much work could hit possibly have needed?), I was finally told I wouldn't be able to get a car like that for less than 28K, no matter where I went. I proved them wrong the next day and bought the same make and model (only in better shape and with fewer miles) for what I expected to pay, and what KBB, Edmunds, etc., estimated book value should be. Don't believe their nonsense. Shop around, do your homework, check book values, and be patient. This is a bait and gouge factory. Keep your distance.

Went for a test drive of a car I saw on the internet. Price was shown in the ad and it was stated it was a certified used car. Loved car and we where working out the pricing and an additional $8000 dollars was added to price. That did not include taxes and registration. Was told it was for the inspection and certifying of car. But it was already stated in ad with old price that it was certified. Told them I did not want them to do it again and was told that is how they sold cards and could not sell it without doing it. I feel I was brought into the dealer using false statements in ad. They are very shady practices at this dealer.

AVOID EVER GOING TO ROUTE 23 NISSAN! If your car breaks...

AVOID EVER GOING TO ROUTE 23 NISSAN! If your car breaks down in front of this dealership, please take my advice and have it towed somewhere else. I took my Nissan just to have the fluids changed for a road trip. Driving the car back I noticed a noise. I brought it back the very next day. I rode with a mechanic who recommended repairs based on this new noise. I should share the fact that my car was now leaking in multiple places from the original fluid changes just one day prior. Route 23 Nissan has now had the car for 10 days, they have done thousands of dollars in recommended repairs and still can get my car right. Their Part Department has no parts, so you always loose a day to a parts order. The parts department has on two separate occasions either not ordered the parts and then ordered the wrong part twice. I was told their best technician was working on my car. They still don't have a clue how to fix my car which never had an issue or a warning light before Route 23 Nissan opened the hood. AVOID EVER GOING TO ROUTE 23 NISSAN! AVOID EVER GOING TO ROUTE 23 NISSAN!

Jonathan was great to work with. He was professional and down to earth. He really went the extra mile to meet our needs. In a crazy market, caused by a global pandemic, he made leasing a new 2022 Nissan Frontier a much better experience than we expected! We definitely recommend Route 23 Nissan!
