My Salesman (Neil Turnbull) was friendly and knowledgable about his product and the competition. He was supported, quite well, by Frank Caputo (General Sales Manager) and Kamil Wokcik (after market) between the four of us we were able to cement a sale. The process was non-agressive and made the entire experience pleasant. Very satisfied with the dealership and the people I dealt with.

given a good quote over the phone and was told there were no extra fees came in to Honda of nanuet and sat down with salesman who gave a price almost 1,000 more than on the phone we told them we had a quote but they said softly that that quote was just to get us to come in for the hard sell. beware if you feel you have to deal with them

I'm really happy I met Robert King. He brightened our day on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We knew exactly what we wanted (2014 CR-V) and Bob was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. His honesty and calm demeanor made us feel very comfortable partnering with him. Bob offered the best deal (and inventory) we had seen over the past few days and we would not hesitate to go back to Honda of Nanuet. Highly recommended!

I brought my 2010 pilot into Honda of Nanuet because I felt the front struts weren't working properly. It felt like the shocks/struts weren't absorbing bumps the way they should. I was met by Dennis Clifford who was very friendly and professional. I explained the situation to him and he informed me that the mechanics would look at the truck and they would call me when it was done. When I picked up the truck I was a little surprised that my bill was approximately $900 after taxes. They determined the front compliance bushings were leaking. Parts added up to $324 and $500 for labor. $500 for labor for bushings? This seems a little excessive to me. To top things off the car still wasn't driving properly and I was told I would also have to replace the front struts which would be another $1300 dollars. What annoys me the most is the truck only has 25000 miles on it but it is outside the 3 year warranty so none of the work is covered. Needless to say I will not be returning to Honda of Nanuet for any future work. It's a shame too because the employees were all very friendly but the prices are insanely to over priced.

Every part of the transaction went smoothly. Our questions were answered promptly and everyone was courteous and helpful. Our salesperson patiently showed us how to program my car for my needs. I highly recommend Honda of Nanuet!

I recently traded in my 2007 Fit Sport and financed a 2013 Fit Sport w\Nav. The salesperson I worked with was nice enough but lacked experience. I had to inform him that Nav was available in the Fit, he had no idea. My experience with Frank, one of the managers was the worst I've ever had in buying a car. While the buyer should beware, I do expect a salesman to be honest with me. Frank stated that my current car could not get a penny over $4k. He then listed it for $7995 the very next day. I felt used, misled, and completely taken advantage of. Frank epitomizes everything that comes to mind when one thinks of a used car salesman - his level of sleeziness is unsurpassed in my experience. I should have come to this realization on my first visit -I approached him on my way out to thank him for his time. As I was not buying that day, he refused to even look up from his computer and literally left me standing there with my hand shake offer unaccepted. I eventually pulled my hand back as the awkwardness of the moment increased. I will never step foot in this dealership again - for sales or service (I had all my service on my previous car completed there since moving to the area). I strongly recommend not visiting this dealer...I only wish that I had shopped around more. They did not deserve my business.

Dealer response

John, I am the GM of Honda of Nanuet and wanted to take the time to look into your specific vehicle details. We would like to first apologize for our communication breakdown and not properly explaining the process we must go through when taking in a used vehicle. We certainly appreciate your business and hope that we are able to answer your questions and meet your needs now and in the future. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you at your convenience to discuss further. Before offering a more detailed explanation, below are the expenditures we paid to get your vehicle ready for sell on our lot: • Vehicle Value that we paid to you: $4,000.00 • Mechanical & Cosmetic Reconditioning: $1,300.00 using OEM parts and labor. • Dealer Limited Warranty: $600.00 • Advertising/Merchandising – Online Media Outlets such as Auto Trader, Cars.com, print and online: $370.00 Although we had your vehicle listed at a higher dollar amount, that is not the price we received. We ended up selling it for $6,800. When adding the above costs that we put into the vehicle and deducting them from we did to sold the vehicle for, the dealership had a gross profit of $400.00. This also did not include personnel expenditures and related expenses for the dealership. As you can imagine, there are many aspects we must take into account when taking on a used vehicle and then turning it around to resell it. In determining the initial value the first thing, of course, is the condition of the vehicle. Using Edmunds, a 2007 Honda Fit with 120,000 miles is worth $4100.00. Please click on the following link: http://www.edmunds.com/honda/fit/2007/tmv-appraise-results.html. Also, the vehicle car history report confirmed that the vehicle was involved in a collision, immediately affecting the value. Even with this, we did not make much of a deduction and still provided you with a similar value. As a dealership we recondition and repair our vehicles to exceed mechanical and cosmetic standards so that we are able to stand behind the vehicles we sell. In doing so, we set ourselves apart from our competitors. We pride ourselves in being a full disclosure dealership and present our customers with a complete history report and accept all knowing liabilities thereafter. We also provide our customers a piece of mind by providing them a limited vehicle warranty. A consumer wants to know that they are buying a vehicle that is free from mechanical defect, and from a business that will stand behind the product that they sell, which is why we invested the above items in your vehicle trade to assure that prospective consumer just that. I apologize for your perception of Franks behavior, as Frank is a customer oriented indivdual who usally interact extremely well with our guest. the area in which Frank sits is below counter height in which is primarily visited by the sales staff. periodically it may take a few moments to capture the attention of the individual that is behind the desk if they are on a computer. I am unsure if this was the case. Honda of Nanuet believes in customer satisfaction and does not take for granted the customers of whom we serve. As a business we cannot do business without earning a fair profit, however we cannot remain in business without providing customer satisfaction. We take pride in having an A+ Rating with the Better business bureau, and being in good standings with all consumer agencies. We enjoy supporting our community with various outreach sponsorship as building a strong presence and goodwill in a community is everything to our business. We would like to earn your trust and faith within our business. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to meet with you at your convenience to further discuss. Please let me know your availability. Regards, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While I have had my share of negative dealer sales...

While I have had my share of negative dealer sales experiences over the last 35 years or so, they have never reached the lows of my encounter in early November with Nanuet Honda. I strolled in with my 85 year-old father to inquire about and hopefully take a look at the new Accord Hybrid promised (at least in the press) to be in the showrooms on October 31. Instead, what I got from the two salesmen were blank looks, dismissive comments about hybrids generally, misinformation on some matters and no information on most, and a complete lack of engagement. It truly was unbelievable -- a hard sell would have been preferable.

Dealer response

Mr. Fixell, My Dealership participates in the DealerRater Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at their dealership I sincerely apologize about your recent experience as my staff should’ve been well informed. The Honda Accord Hybrid are arriving in limited quantities at our dealership and is on sale now. It’s an awesome vehicle that is certainly technologically advanced and boast a 50 MPG city!! Thats incredible. I recently drove the vehicle and had to get used to vehicle mileage range showing 730 miles to empty as I have rarely ever experinced a vehicle of its size and comfort offering such a mileage range!! I would love to invite you to return back to the dealership to take a test drive depending on availability. . Please let me know when you would be available to do that. Regards, Dave
