I purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-Door)

I purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-Door) Rubicon from PHD Auto Group. The first month I owned it, it constantly had check engine lights on for failing parts and it was making a strange engine noise. PHD repaired some of the issues at their shop, but not all of them. On two occasions, they cleared the check engine lights with a device without ever addressing the cause of them. They told me to bring the vehicle back if the lights continued to persist and they would clear them again. When I told them that the parking brake did not work, I was informed that it couldn’t be repaired. I later found out from a different shop that it could be repaired, and it cost me $350 for that inspection alone. Three months into owning the vehicle, the engine noise was getting worse. The drive shaft assembly had failed, which I later found out was a $3,500 repair. I had initially brought the vehicle back to PHD where the problem was misdiagnosed- I was told that it needed a new transmission. I was also informed that they do not offer loaner vehicles for repairs, so I would have to rent a vehicle out of pocket for, “a few weeks, maybe even longer.” PHD had sold me a $2,800 “extended service contract” for the vehicle when I purchased it. It was supposed to cover the cost of any major repairs. However, the service contract was completely useless. The warranty company would not cover any of the needed repairs (or any future ones) because the previous owner had modified the vehicle with larger tires and a lift kit before I purchased it. The salesperson had sold me on the warranty at the time of purchase, stating that any major issues would be covered. Now I am stuck with a ticking time bomb of a vehicle and a service contract that I can’t use. PHD sold me the vehicle for around $25,000, with the cost of the service contract. It had roughly 85,000 miles on it. Admittedly, I did my homework way too late! The current value of the vehicle is listed around $7,000, so if I attempt to trade it in elsewhere, I will be completely upside down with negative equity. PHD Auto Group is unreliable, dishonest, and predatory. I would not recommend that anyone purchase a vehicle from them if they value their money.

DON’T BUY A VEHICLE HERE!

DON’T BUY A VEHICLE HERE!!!!!The car’s battery did not work nor did the engine work properly on a car sold to my family. My son in law was told to keep the vehicle running all the time for it to work properly since the car was sitting on the lot for so long! We were gaslighted into purchasing because of the desperate circumstances, and they had me write an exceptional review when I was there to make them look good at first!!!! Unfortunately, there was NO warranty available for the vehicle, and it was not even able to be serviced in their shop because of that! What’s even more strange is the fact that my kids were in a car accident lead them to get another vehicle there, and the woman who had hit them in the accident and totaled their car came into the dealership and sat down at the next desk while my kids were busy buying their vehicle!!!!! This woman only came in to inquire about vehicles? I don’t think so!!!

Do yourself a huge favor & DON'T spend your money at this

Do yourself a huge favor & DON'T spend your money at this dealership. Most of the cars they sell are wrecked & our vehicle was very unsafe to be driven on any road. Bought a 2023 Mazda MX-5 from this this dealership. Come to find out by a Mazda dealership that the car was unsafe to be driven. The car had 1 out of 4 drive-line bolts holding it together. Among other issues that were safety related. Don't be fooled by the "AS IS" Sales pitch because in OHIO the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act and the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act protect the wrongful sale of a Unsate vehicle. We will be contacting the OHIO State police vehicle inspection unit along with reporting the dealership to the Ohio State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section. In PA this vehicle would NEVER pass an inspection let alone a state inspection in this condition & It's most likely criminal but I am not an expert on that, we'll let the State police along with the lawyers figure out all the details. Honestly this is No joking review and is very serious to any buyer considering a purchase from this dealership. I will post a picture of the drive-line and a safety message that the car displayed before it was taken straight to Mazda. "If you going to sell wrecked cars at least repair them properly" that's just my Observation!!

This place is full of con artists.

This place is full of con artists. Please run far away. This company is full of con artists and terrible human beings who don't care about you or your needs. So a Few months ago we went to PHD auto and they were going to give us a Cadillac with no money down. When we got there we realized the Cadillac had a million problems, when they lied and said it was only one problem. That was the first red flag. We gave them the benefit of doubt since they seemed nice, and they said come back next time with 1 pay stub and we'll hook you up with the same deal. We came back like months later and they told us it was $1,000 down we needed instead of $0 down. Second red flag. We still gave them the benefit of doubt and came back a week later with $1,000. This time we walked in and somehow it went from $0 down to $1,000 down to $1,100 down, but we went with it because we explained to them we really needed a car for me to get to work. So they sold us a 2009 Hyundai Elantra. They promised it was only a Evap leak the car had that was the problem which we were okay with, but come to find out after we bought the car it had a million problems totaling over 5 thousand DOLLARS! SO THEY LIED TO US AGAIN. FINAL RED FLAG! We decided to return the car because MATT told us we had 30 days to return the car no problem and it wouldn't affect our credit and we'd get our money back. Come to find out, this was a lie. There was no such warranty where we could return the car. They sold us a 3rd party warranty that is so cheap It won't even fix any of the issues in the car. When we confronted them respectfully, they decided to threaten us with calling the police just for voicing our frustrations. So if you are thinking about getting a car, NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER GO TO PHD AUTO GROUP! THEY will scam you, lie to you, and leave you out of big money, thank God it was only $1,100 for us and car payments, but I know other people who lost more than us because of this awful place.

Highly motivated sales crew.

Highly motivated sales crew. Went the extra mile to get me into a car I was interested in. Took a test drive. Found an issue. Went back. Car went straight into their shop. Turned out a wire had come loose (the car had been on their lot for several weeks; hard to say what happened), but they fixed it. Took another test drive. Everything was good. The next day I closed the deal. In fact, they had sold me a car by the time a big-time Pittsburgh dealer emailed me to say the car I was interested in through them wasn't available. Got the car home, had a local shop put it up on a rack because of a strange noise. Underneath, the car was *extremely clean*. My guess was two new tires, but it looked like this dealer had put new brakes on both axles as well. The strange noise -- a dust shield had gotten bent somehow, and was rubbing. Overall, the car I bought was how they described it on this site. Pleasant to deal with. These folks really want to sell you a car! I would purchase from them again.
