I bought an 11yr old Ford F250 from Vara in mid 2026. Considering that I was driving an hour to go look at the truck, I asked a lot of questions upfront about the condition, if anything was not working or a problematic. Their feedback was that everything was good, no problems. Upon test driving the truck I highlighted that the brakes had a bad vibration in them and the owner said he would take care of them. Since his mechanic was out, we agreed that he would fix them later and closed the deal. Withing a day of having the truck I informed the owner that the emergency brake didn’t work and it’s release would stick and keep the brake light on and making the dinging noise, additionally the drivers side automatic door locks didn’t work nor did the white taillight reverse lights. He agreed to have these fixed when the brakes were worked on. Over the course of 2 months I could not get the owner to respond in a timely manner nor work with me to figure out how to get the truck back to him to keep for a few days. The truck was unusable for 2 months because the brakes were so bad that when the owner stopped replying completely, I had to just take them to get fixed myself. He had told me at the time of the sale that all pads were replace and there were 3 new rotors, so the vibration was likely just air in the lines from not being bled completely. When I got the wheels off, the rear calipers were seized (causing the vibration), the pads were non-existent and rotors scored. The front brakes had new pads but both rotors were really bad and ruined the pads. I would not trust buying from Vara, they will do or say anything to get a sale and don’t try to sell a quality vehicle.
