We’re sorry you feel that your trip was a waste of time, but we want to clarify what actually happened for anyone reading this review. Before you came to the dealership, we spoke with you by phone and explained that you were ready to pick up the vehicle as long as you completed the required paperwork, provided the down payment, and had active insurance on the vehicle. That same information was reiterated through text after our phone conversation. When you arrived, the issue was not that we were refusing to sell you the vehicle or that we had changed the terms. The issue was that you did not want to obtain insurance on the vehicle before driving it away. Having plates does not eliminate the requirement for insurance, and we cannot allow a customer to leave our dealership and drive a vehicle on public roads without the required insurance coverage. We remained willing to complete the transaction if the required paperwork, down payment, and insurance were taken care of. Unfortunately, the conversation became increasingly confrontational, including profanity directed toward our staff, despite our attempts to explain the situation. We have the complete text-message conversation documenting the exchange, although Cars.com does not currently provide us with an option to attach screenshots to our response. We understand that not every transaction works out, and we respect that you chose not to proceed. However, we do not believe it is fair to characterize our dealership as trying to waste your time or “play games” when the requirements had been communicated before you arrived and were explained again when you were here. We wish you the best and hope you find a vehicle that works for you.

We’re sorry you feel that way, but we’d like to clarify what actually happened. We agreed to reduce the vehicle price from $7,700 to $7,500 in an effort to make the deal work for you. We honored that agreed-upon vehicle price. The $199 documentation/dealer fee is a separate dealership fee that is disclosed as part of the purchase paperwork, and our fee is on the lower end compared with many dealerships. When we prepared the bill of sale, you saw the $199 documentation fee and ultimately decided not to move forward with the purchase. At that point, we did everything we had agreed to do on our end and made every effort to complete the transaction. We certainly understand that you traveled a long way and spent several hours getting here. However, respectfully, we did not “waste” those three hours or back out of the deal. You made the decision to walk away over the $199 fee after we had already honored the $7,500 vehicle price we agreed upon. We would have been happy to complete the purchase under the terms discussed, but ultimately the decision not to proceed was yours.
