Write a reviewOn September 15, 2026, I won a set of wheels on Bring a Trailer for $4,600 and paid the seller, Wallace McNair (username 786AS), immediately. He told me shipping would be about $620 and that the wheels were insured for the $4,600 value. On September 24, I found out through the tracking that the shipment had suffered fire damage and was considered unrecoverable. Wallace initially told me not to worry and that he would handle it because the wheels were insured, but I later found out they had actually been shipped without the insurance I was told was in place. He then told me UPS would not compensate us because the insurance wasn't selected, even though I had nothing to do with the shipping or insurance selection. He also showed me documentation that UPS had refunded approximately $620 in shipping, but I still haven't received that money. I have contacted him over and over, giving him plenty of time and opportunities to make this right, and I was repeatedly told he was going to resolve it, but I still have no wheels, no $4,600 refund, no $410 BAT Fee refund, no $620 shipping refund. I understand that things can happen during shipping, but what really bothers me is how this has been handled afterward. I paid for the wheels in good faith, relied on what I was told about the insurance, and have been left chasing the seller for a resolution. I'm posting this because I don't want another buyer to go through the same situation, and I strongly recommend doing your own due diligence and making sure everything is documented before sending this seller your money. If this is how Wallace Mcnair treats a customer in a $5000 transaction good luck buying a 20k car from him and having issues. Stay away for your own good.
