New Transit Van

We were looking for a new catering/delivery van and I stopped into Capitol City to look. I was greeted right away by John Datzek and he was awesome! From start to finish everyone there made the process easy! Thanks!!!!

Lemon!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a brand new 2019 F159 4x4. It had 6 miles on it. And my boy bought one as well. The day I drove it home it started missing out and the engine light was flashing. Now it’s 1 week later and the truck is still there. It has 70 miles on it and they will NOT give me a different truck. First they said that their #1 guy wasn’t there the day I brought it back. 2 days later they tell me they’re short staffed and have to have someone come in to fix it! I’m extremely pissed and have been taken advantage of. Never buy from here!!!! I can’t stress this enough. You’d think spending over $100k on 2 trucks it wouldn’t be an issue. It’s xxxx YOU WE HAVE YOUR MONEY!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! My boy and I bought new trucks...

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! My boy and I bought new trucks 11/02/2010. Mine broke down on the way home. I get it back and 2 days later after I finally call to find out the scoop to get lied to. Eddie the manager tells me their #1 service guy was off on Wednesday to telling me Friday that they’re short staffed and have to bring in someone from another dealership. I asked for a different truck and they pretty much said Fu$&@ you we have your money and it’ll get fixed whenever we fix it! I’m going back with my lawyer!

My Lincoln serviced at Ford Dealer

I expected good service at the Ford dealer but was surprised by receiving excellent service at this dealership. During a routine service visit for an oil change it was discovered my transfer case on my AWD car was cracked and leaking oil. The car did have a slight drive line vibration but I didn't report that. The service department pointed out this potential failure point and ordered the parts to fix it under warranty. It took a few days to to get the car in and repaired. I was provided a new Ford Fusion to drive, what a nice car. The repair was completed and my drive line vibration went away. The people treated me and my wife very well. Five stars from me were totally justified. Still love the Lincoln but will not hesitate using Capitol City Ford to service it.

The way buying a car should be!

Absolutely the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. The staff was lightning fast responding to my multitude of questions, which was imperative because I live 3 hours away. The process went extremely quick and I was in and out of there in no time. This is the way buying a car should be!! Will definitely be back

Bad Customer Service

Up to this point in my life, I have always purchased new cars for a variety of reasons including the level of certainty that you walk away with knowing that the car isn’t a lemon. However, this time around, I decided that I wanted a used Ford Flex around the 100k mile mark that was in decent condition. I searched the Indianapolis market for months on a daily basis to try and find the right deal. I had even test drove the car before so I knew exactly what I wanted. Eventually, I found the right deal at Sharp Cars. So I went there on a Saturday and took it for a brief test drive. There were some cosmetic defects but the car seemed functional. I traded my truck in for below what KBB suggested because I knew that I was getting a good deal. I also opted to get the extended warranty coverage in case the car was in fact a lemon. I planned to cancel after a few months if everything worked out which is what the representative had suggested. That was when everything seemed to go downhill. After purchasing the car, the check engine light went on within the thirty minutes that it took to drive home. I took it in the following week and they told me that the catalytic converter and turbo engines needed to be replaced. This was fine with me given that I thought my warranty would cover it. However, apparently the warranty from the outside provider didn’t kick in until 30 days after the purchase for the very reason of car dealerships selling lemons. This meant that I had to come up with a solution directly with the dealership. Sharp Cars wasn’t willing to replace the parts given that it would cost more than the car is worth. They offered to “trade me out of it” which I had never heard before. They essentially were going to find me an equal trade. My first idea was to just take my old truck back. It had only been a week but they claimed they had already sold it off. My second idea was for them to buy another Ford Flex from across town that was also a good deal and then I would buy it off them. They wouldn’t budge on that. It was at this point I asked, can I just have my money back? They could keep the car and I would just look elsewhere. They were unwilling to do that. I was at their mercy while they looked for an alternative at the auction. After two weeks of them looking and finding nothing, I was getting very nervous. They were kind enough to give me a loaner car but I was ready to close this chapter, especially as time progressed. The price that I had paid for the Flex was great and I became increasingly worried they wouldn’t be able to compromise. Eventually, I saw a Subaru Outback at their parent company Capital City Ford. I know in general that Subaru’s are reliable so that I decided to take that. However, I ended up spending much more than I had originally budgeted for. I have waited to write this review for 3 months to see if the Subaru worked and it seems to be fine. This has been a long review but I hope that potential customers get the chance to read this before dealing with Sharp Cars or their parent company Capitol City Ford. Long story short, buying a used car obviously has a certain amount of risk. I thought that I had covered my bases. Clearly I was wrong, perhaps even due to my naivety. I know from working in customer service in my past roles, that it isn’t what happens but how you handle it and they certainly could have done better.

Be careful, they are selling Canadian import cars

I stopped to look at a used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. After reviewing the CarFax the car was a Canadian Import car, which means that the factory warranty is null and void in the U.S., and the vehicle history details in Canada are not as comprehensive as the U.S. Buyer beware! The sales person told me the OEM factory warranty was still in tact, which is concerning.

Poor customer service

I have three issues with this dealership. First, after the negotiations back and forth they gave me their best deal and I said “let me sleep on it.” The very next morning I called and said I’ll take it. They said that the deal was only for yesterday and jacked the price up $300. I finally got it for $150 more than the price they gave me the previous night. Second, on my way home I noticed that instead of filling my gas tank they only filled it half full. And the worst thing was the very next day I called to report that there was an issue with the power steering. It was binding and hard to turn. They told me that there was nothing they could do because I didn’t buy a warranty. I’m not talking a month down the road it was less than 24 hours after taking possession. Buyers beware!!! Stay away from these shady characters.
