Dishonest dealership and service center
I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing a vehicle at Nationwide Nissan in Timonium. I brought a pre-owned 2018 Ford focus on 2/3/2023 just to get to and from work. After three weeks I noticed the car shuttering after stopping and accelerating. I took it to the service center and they kept it for three weeks during that time they stated that they were sending it to Norris Ford service center. When I got it back I was told by John Roe that it only need a software update. That took three weeks? After having the car back a week and a half the same issue occurred but worst. I took it back today and was treated like I had no idea of what I was talking about by the manager Ryan Greenidge. He called their service department where I left messages that were not returned let alone by the salesman Chris Collins who claimed to be looking out for me at the time of the sale. Once the manager got through to someone in the service department, I found out that they sent the car to not one but two Ford service centers while it was gone for those three weeks. Yet it still wasn't fixed and worst then when I dropped it off. After doing some research online, I found out that the make and model is on the Maryland lemon law list of defective vehicles with a high number of complaints. This only gets worst, they tried to act like they were going to help me get another car. All I was asking for was another make at the same price range. Instead they tried to put me in a 2023 Nissen Versa and ask for a $5000 down payment. Seriously, like if I had that kind of money would I have brought a pre-owned one. After I told the salesman Airion Rice l didn't have that kind of money and will not use a cosigner his whole demeanor changed to a gtfoh attitude and walked away from me. I went back to the managers office where Ryan Greenidge and Joh Diehl were and was now told that my only choice was for them to send the car to another Ford service center. Apparently the first two weren't good enough. The manager acted as if there was no such thing as a lemon law even through it was talked about in my paperwork at the time of purchase. He even had the nerve to tell me there was nothing on the Carfax report about a problem with the car. How would there be if it wasn't reported or taken in for service in reference to the problem? I was so upset and had to force myself not to curse them out to the point that I began to cry. They took my trade in that literally had just gotten 40,000 on a 2013 Hyundai and sold me a 2018 piece of crap. I have a loaner for now and I still wouldn't trust driving that car when I get it back for fear of it stalling or being slow to accelerate in traffic and being hit from the rear. My only option is to consult a lawyer or possibly surrendering the vehicle once it's returned to me. I honestly can't see myself paying for a car that's not safe to drive. I'll have to take public transportation after that which will be difficult because I am a floater on my job and work different shifts and at several locations some of which are not on public transportation lines. I would not recommend this dealership or the service center to anyone. They are dishonest, unprofessional, and liars only out to take advantage. I wish I could give them zero stars because they deserve less than that.
