I wanted to post a review that accurately conveys my

I wanted to post a review that accurately conveys my experience with Classic Mazda without putting them on a pedestal or vilifying them. Additionally this review serves as a cautionary tale for the naive customer like I was. Shawn and Vince with sales were great, and Julio in Finance was as well I still believe these individuals deserve a shout out for their phenomenal customer service. I did not experience haggling or anything of the sort like you expect at a dealership, and left happy on day 1 January 21st. I even got a coupon for a complimentary first oil change because of concerns I had about the car. However, I ran into trouble in paradise on January 27th, less than a week after purchasing the vehicle. I had an engine light on for a cylinder 4 misfire. I had not even driven the car for 300 miles at this point. Understandably I was frustrated with Classic Mazda because I felt like a thorough inspection of the vehicle should have indicated that some additional maintenance needed to be done. However the inspection only really stated that the previous oil change was failed and that the front breaks would need to be replaced soon. Long story short, another issue appeared and eventually a trusted independent mechanic was able to determine that my alternator was bad. I do not want to use accusatory language here, but I do find it weird that the dealership was in no way aware that the alternator was no good during point of sale. Maybe they weren't and I am unlucky BUT I am definitely mentioning it in this review for those that may be more educated on these matters. The big point I want to make is that when you buy a car as-is and the 5 day/300 mile warranty is up, you as the customer are responsible for any repairs that the vehicle needs. I tried to get Classic Mazda to do a good-will repair since the issue happened so soon after purchase but the most the GM could offer was a discounted diagnostic. I was naive, and now I know better and am looking to educate people who are new to buying used cars as-is. IF you buy newer cars at this dealership I imagine it's a wonderful experience for most. But if you're like me and buying from the 'Vehicles Under 15k' section please be cautious. I wasn't and I have had to already spend too much to repair the car when I have had it less than a month now. As long as you go in educated and prepared you should be fine and as a whole this dealership isn't awful like some I have heard about.

Dealer response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating unexpected vehicle issues can be, especially soon after a purchase. To clarify for future readers: all of our pre‑owned vehicles are sold as‑is, and we provide a 5‑day/300‑mile return window so customers have the opportunity to drive the vehicle, have it inspected independently, and ensure it meets their expectations. After that period, any maintenance or repairs become the responsibility of the owner, which is standard practice across the industry. Every vehicle receives a safety inspection prior to sale. Used vehicles, especially older models with higher mileage can develop issues without warning, even when they show no symptoms during inspection or test drives. While we were unable to offer complimentary repairs outside the return period, we did extend a discounted diagnostic as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, all optional coverages were declined on this vehicle at time of purchase. We always encourage buyers to review vehicle history, ask questions, and take advantage of the return window to ensure confidence in their purchase. Transparency and customer understanding are important to us, and we’re committed to providing clear information throughout the process.

Quick response from the folks at the dealership.

Quick response from the folks at the dealership. Set up a day to come by. No pressure from anyone there. Explained their process, pricing and service. Super clean, super polite people there. The car we were looking at got sold the next day while we checked on another vehicle. Dealership let us know immediately. I will go back when looking for another car! Very professional.

Classic Mazda in Orlando, FL overall typically does

Classic Mazda in Orlando, FL overall typically does EXCELLENT maintenance & repair. This dealership is among the best organized & cleanest dealerships that I have EVER experienced with LOTS OF CREATURE COMFORTS (including snacks) for those (like me) who wish to wait on their vehicles. The employees appear to function very well together like a "well-oiled team". My ONLY "gripe" is that on my last visit a few days ago, their COFFEE/HOT CHOCLATE MACHINE was out of order because that machine makes the BEST HOT CHOCLATE IN ORLANDO, FL! I actually "crave" having a cup of that hot chocolate as I am driving to the dealership for service, & it has always been available in the past. Hopefully, on my next visit it will be functional again. This is a pretty "nit picky" complaint but it's the ONLY one I have!
