In the past 20 years I've bought a mustang gt, two escapes, two expeditions and now a 23 Bronco. Needless to say, I really like the Ford products. However, our experience with this bunch might change my mind. We received no information about any of the electronic items on the car. I still have no idea how to turn on the navigation system! The car was " delivered" without the front license plate being attached. The various "extras" which kept being offered at huge additional cost would when rejected suddenly materialize a discount coupon. The dismount from the vehicle would require a long jump. Their solution, a metal step at a large installation fee with sand embedded in the paint engineered to scrape exiting legs. This took a couple weeks to install. Excuses ranged from missing clamps, theft from material delivery and the only guy who knew how to install them was on vacation. I have subsequently found an automatic step available for this model and am having it installed.

Lack of responsibility

Visited their service department 2 times in Aug. 19 2022 for recall for Clutch Cable Bushing which they installed incorrectly causing my 2015 Ford Fusion to loose power when excellerating and had to immediately return to service dept and a service technician drove it and they found the recall part had been installed incorrectly and fixed it. a week later had some starting problems and eventually the battery went dead. Set up appointment to get new battery and enquired if the recall part they installed incorrectly could have caused a short in the computer but service agent disagreed and lacked concern. Took car back for transmission flush January 25 2023 and informed them there felt like a little slip going into first gear, they flushed transmission and said transmission was fine. Took car back February 1 2023 to make sure the transmission fluid was correct because it was some slippage in first to second gear and fourth gear. Technician said transmission was fine unless I wanted hem to dig draper.By June 12 2023 had to have transmission check again and they said it had a slow leak and need a transmission overhaul for about $5,000. I enquired to my service agent if the had been doing work on the transmission for about 5 months if this could have been there problem which she brushed off. Then I suggested that the repair price she quoted me was high she responded good luck finding someone else to do it less expensive. Seemed to be no concern about anything I said. I still believe the problem goes back to the recall part they first installed incorrectly had caused a short in the computer, because I had the car for 7 years and experienced no problem's until the recall part problem. Seemed to be a lack of any concern that the dealership may have been part of the problem that caused a $5,000 repair.

Easy Transaction & Attentive Service

I had a very positive experience working with Richmond Ford West and, specifically, Derrick Pulliam in the purchase of my Ford Bronco Sport. I wasn't intending to purchase a used vehicle, but 2023 orders are so delayed in their production that I decided to look for a used one with low mileage. This dealership is a couple hours from my home, and it was fantastic being able to negotiate a deal entirely via email, when a lot of other dealerships only wanted to entertain in-person conversations. In a single day, I had the price agreed to and financing in place with only two, brief phone calls required to complete the financing portion. Upon picking up the vehicle, Derrick went over all the features and ensured the paperwork was ready to go. Given the car is certified pre-owned, I noticed about 10 minutes into driving it home that there was a small crack in the windshield. I called Derrick and he had me send a photo, agreed I could get it repaired local to my home, and mailed a check to reimburse me. I also discovered that the rooftop antenna was missing to which Derrick was very responsive and worked to ensure that I would be reimbursed for the purchase of a new one. Derrick was always responsive and courteous in his efforts to resolve these small issues, even after the deal was completed. I have no hesitation recommending this dealership to others, and I intend to consider it for my future purchases, even though it isn't the most convenient location to my home. It's getting harder to find pleasant and attentive customer service, and I found it well worth my trip.
