Another unhappy experience with the service department.

Another unhappy experience with the service department. Let me be clear, I love my service advisor. This is about the technician and or the valet. I picked my car up today 8/1/2022 and everything went smooth until the valet pulled my car up. I noticed a piece of paper on my dashboard so I took it down. To my surprise, it was part of my contract from another vehicle I recently purchased. I had it rolled up in my drivers door. Someone went through my personal papers and wrote the tag number on the back and stuck it in the window. I was absolutely furious. Along with that, the contents of my drivers door was thrown in the passenger seat including Kleenex someone used. I don't use Kleenex and had detailed my interior and exterior the day prior. The work was on the passenger door so I don't understand why anyone was going through my driver door throwing my things around. That added insult to injury as a few days prior, my three year old found a marijuana joint in the loaner car. What if he would have put it in his mouth instead of saying "Daddy I found a french fry?" I don't smoke, don't believe in drugs and question who cleans these loaners? Or did the joint come from the staff cleaning the cars. I received a very mediocre apology from the service manager and was sent on my way. I'm extremely disappointed as I have purchased numerous vehicles from here and so has my family. 15 within the last three years to be exact. I expected more. A very dissatisfied customer.

Leased a loaner.

Leased a loaner. Got a decent monthly payment, but the car has an issue that the dealer refuses to discuss. Don’t get used from these guys.

Marc Cleary is the reason I did not continue to do

Marc Cleary is the reason I did not continue to do business with South Bay. He was rude and condescending to me on the phone and acted like I was bothering him.. I told him exactly what I wanted and he proceeded to try to convince me I wanted something else. Totally unacceptable. I’ve since moved on and leased from another dealer.

Brad seemed like a nice guy.

Brad seemed like a nice guy. He returned my Phone call regarding Christian buying my X2. My lease was up. I called Brad back leaving a voicemail that I didn’t like Christian or working with him. I wanted to work with Brad I was more comfortable with him. Christian was arrogant and cold. Brad never called me back and went to Christian and told him I don’t like him. So when I went in to see Christian he acted like a child and refused to help me. Thank you Brad for turning on a long time customer and helping ruin my experience with BMW. You could have done much better.

Christian has no Integrity.

Christian has no Integrity. He was going to buy my X2 and because I didn’t like him and didn’t want to work with him, he said he bought five x2’s and didn’t need my car. Where is his Integrity?? Very Childish for a man. I’ve been a BM W owner for over 20 yrs and BMW just treated me like I don’t matter. Very, very disappointed.

If I could give a MINUS any number, I would! Picked up car yesterday and now problems again! The Vehicle is a used 2013 X3, which I have had for 5 months from Nash auto in Costa Mesa. Two weeks ago, I was on the freeway and info on the screen stated issues with the oil pump. I continued to drive and then a message flashed on the screen stating ' DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION. DRIVE MODERATELY.' A few seconds later the car screen indicated the car would shut down in approximately 30 seconds! I had to quickly, and dangerously, exit the freeway. As I approached the end of the offramp, the car shut down. No movement of steering wheel nor any wheels. I was unable to start the car! I had to tow it to McKenna BMW of South Bay and the car remained for two weeks. I had to pay a lot of money for repairs and retrieved the vehicle on 4/16/22. That evening the warning regarding DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION again appeared. On 4/17/22, the same warning remained and now the engine light is on. I called the South Bay BMW dealership (Sunday) and was informed that no one was available from the repair /Service area and I would need to wait until tomorrow. The car is still not safe to drive but yet I need to drive due to my work schedules and locations! There is no excuse for this issue to reoccur just one day after repairs! The sales person COULD have called someone/supervisor and asked for guidance, yet I was informed " I only work in sales". I am not one who "name drops", but if this issue is not rectified tomorrow, I will be happy to name all involved. After this incident, I do not trust this dealership and I definitely do not trust BMW cars!! Stay tuned!!

Terrible service

Originally got my car here. Horrible dealership if you need to service your car. They have ZERO loaner vehicles available and are unable to get a loaner vehicle from other BMW dealership…how can you operate a service shop at BMW tier with no available loaner vehicles for people getting their car serviced. It’s ridiculous. Also calling to ask about pricing of tire replacement was largely unhelpful and I was bounced back and forth between the service and parts department because no one could answer my simple question for a quote. Was also met with eye rolls when walking into the sales department to ask for someone to direct me where to go after having my car towed here. they weren’t exactly busy sitting around chatting. Don’t make you feel welcomed here. 0/10. Would not recommend bringing or buying your car here.

My rating is for the service department, specifically the technician working on my car. My actual service advisor is the best. He restored my trust in South Bay BMW prior to this situation. My car recently went in for a warranty repair and during the visit, my car notified me of a incident. Although someone unplugged my dash cameras, they still record if someone hits the car, triggers the alarm etc. Once I was able to download the video, I watched the technician open my hood and allowed it to hit the car above where it rested until he was done filling the washer fluid. I was furious. I checked my car for damage and noticed dirt/oil from the tires. No they didn't wash the car upon returning it to me. I take very good care of my vehicles. When it's in someone else's hands, I would hope they would respect my property as I respect their loaner cars when I'm allowed one. I posted screen shots of the video as I'm unable to upload it. I'm extremely upset with this recent event and hope SBBMW train their employees to better care for others property. Had the tables been turned, I would be on the hook for damage to a loaner. My camera recorded 5 incidents of either hard braking or something bumping into the car. I'm extremely unhappy.

After the experience I received and not having to use my Costco membership experience, I decided to purchase my BMW elsewhere.
