A Costly Lesson in Customer Retention I'm writing this review based on my experience with your service department. It’s astonishing how a company that bent over backwards to win me as a customer—cutting a $2,700 check to pay off my Nissan lease—could show so little care when it came to keeping me. I purchased a 2025 Buick Enclave, and just three months into ownership, the antenna cover fell off through no fault of my own. When I reached out to have it replaced, I was told that despite having a bumper-to-bumper warranty, Pontiac/Buick wouldn’t cover the part. I understand the manufacturer’s stance, but I also understand the concept of doing right by your customer. There’s a cost to doing business, and sometimes, absorbing that cost is how you build loyalty. Instead, I was charged nearly $700 for a part that should have been written off. Yes, you gave me a small discount—but the message was clear: being “right” mattered more than keeping a customer. You work for a billion-dollar company that had no problem spending thousands to earn my business, yet you lost me over $700. So let me spell out what that really cost you: I will never buy another vehicle from any building with “Peterson” on it. That’s a lost sale for one of your salespeople. I’ll use the services I’ve already paid for, but I won’t be purchasing anything further from your service department. Your parts and accessories department lost all future sales. I’ll be buying my floor mats and upgrades from Amazon. If someone reading this wants to roll the dice and give you a chance, that’s their choice. As for me—I won’t be back. And I will tell everyone I know how I was treated. This review isn’t just feedback—it’s a lesson. You were right, technically. But what did that $700 really buy you? A lost customer for life. Read that again: you lost a customer for life. Enjoy that $700. It’ll be the last you get from me.

To clarify, your vehicle is covered under the manufacturer’s bumper-to-bumper warranty, and our service department followed the appropriate guidelines during inspection. The issue with the antenna cover was determined to be the result of external damage — not a manufacturer defect — and therefore is not covered under warranty. This is standard across all brands and is not a reflection of the vehicle’s quality. Additionally, our findings suggest that the damage may have occurred during a car wash, which can sometimes impact exterior components. We recommend speaking with the car wash facility about this issue, and once that step is taken, we would be more than happy to assist you with getting the repair completed properly. We understand that it’s frustrating when things don’t go as expected, but as we’ve mentioned, we offered to discount the replacement to assist in addressing the cost. While we are under no obligation to do so, we were happy to extend this as a gesture of good faith. As much as we value your business, the responsibility for the damage does not lie with Buick or Peterson Buick. It’s similar to breaking a personal item and expecting someone else to cover the cost — a situation that’s not typically fair to the other party involved. If you feel the need to continue to express dissatisfaction, we understand, but it’s important to recognize that customers who believe others should bear the financial burden for their own actions are not the type of relationships we strive to build. We want to emphasize that our team is committed to treating every customer with professionalism and respect. If you felt otherwise, we are willing to review the situation further, but we stand behind how it was handled based on the facts. I had a pleasant experience with Peterson auto group's sales and finance teams. The staff were very professional and mindful of my time. I worked with Andrew who ensured a smooth process from start to finish. He was responsive and crisp in his communication. He went above and beyond to give me a wonderful experience - he sent me pictures, Carfax and imperfections of the vehicle even before I arrived. As a customer, this transparency was the key in building trust. He picked me up from the airport, quickly sorted out all the paperwork since I was in a hurry. He pointed out dings on the body and ensured that they were fixed when the keys were handed over. I was completely happy and satisfied to drive back home with a full tank of gas. Would highly recommend. Keep up the good work!

I was very happy with my out of state purchase of my AWD

I was very happy with my out of state purchase of my AWD Lyriq in Jan 2024 at Peterson Cadillac in Boise, and dealing with Jim D my sales person. He even picked me up at the airport. The entire process was seamless & I just wanted to pass along my recent buying experience. I would definitely purchase from Peterson dealership again, if ever given the opportunity in the future.
