2026 Nissan Altima

Nissan’s Altima was one of a couple of sedans that saw sales down in the second quarter of 2026, but it’s not for the reasons you may think.

Continuously variable transmissions allow the engine of a car to continuously operate in its most effective rpm range.

For the 2026 model year, Nissan has dropped the entry-level 2.5 S trim and range-topping SL of its Altima mid-size sedan, but an SR Midnight Edition has been added.
