2020 Subaru Outback consumer reviews

This car in Onyx XT form is great looking, fast and holds the road....my wife and i were arguing because she said no white car and then she saw the XT on the floor and said...ok that one in White! The salesman swung open the doors and drove it out of the showroom for us!. It is my 4th Subaru. How anyone drives without their 4 wheel symmetrical derive system is beyond me. Especially in hazardous conditions.

Bought this car so I could own a safe vehicle for transporting my grandchildren and also for the ease of loading my kayak. Couldn’t be happier.

I am very short and I am having a slight amount of trouble getting in the car as compared to other SubarusI have owned. To get in comfortably I may have to put the seat back each time. Otherwise I love the car. It is smooth riding and very comfortable...a sharp looking vehicle!!!!

This is a lovely car if you can shut off all the automatic stuff. The engine start/stop feature at stop lights is nuts and will drive you crazy. Two places to click before it will drive like a normal car. You have to reset it each time you stop the car at your destination. Another thing I fight with is the car trying to steer itself to stay within the lines. Who thinks up this stuff? What a pain, now I have to figure out how to shut that off. Otherwise, it is o.k. but I should have kept my old car.

Quiet, solid, great tech onboard, great ride quality and handling and personally the beast looking CUV or SUV or Wagon... who cares... solid vehicle with the ability to eat up off road challenges. Love it

3rd Subaru I've owned. Currently have 2020 Outback. Owned it 6 days & had to jump it 3 times. Now see from Torque magazine there are problems w/battery failure. This is a problem.

Beautiful, functional and great safety features. This is the perfect car for me and my dog. He finally has room when we travel. It’s great.

This vehicle impresses me every time I open the door. Subaru engineered the BEST all-wheel drive train and all the safety features operate operate on their own, unless you turn them off.

Turbo motor and cvt are excellent. Interior is beautiful and seats are exceptionally comfortable, including the rear seats. Infotainment screen is a little slow in responsiveness. Several steps are required to disable auto start/stop...which is rough when restarting. Screen size is a major plus. Advanced adaptive cruise works extremely well. Driver monitoring is very unreliable and most often disables itself. I have the Touring XT model. Overall, a great choice.

After owning an Impreza, outback, Forester and ascent in the family I can say this outback is my favorite. The interior comfort and styling are a big step up from Subaru’s in the past. The AWD system is amazing in snow but even dry everyday driving it plants the car to the ground and is a pleasure to drive. I will never own another car brand other than Subaru unless I need a truck.
