my 4th outback

my 5th subaru (4th outback) and this 2023 touring xt addresses virtually all of the deficincies and negatives of my 2020 model. the infotainment head is several levels improved and now a pleasure to use. still some improvements possible, but the vehicle is terrific. the turbo-charged engine is a pleasure and certainly quick 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds. definitely an under-appreciated safety feature.

Great Vehicle But Be Aware

I owned three Rav4's prior to the Outback. Love it, great car. Everyone knows the good points. The negative are that the interior storage is minimal. A slot above the glove box is a couple of inches high and useless. The console storage in very small. The pockets in the doors are tiny. It keeps losing the blue tooth connection. When I get in I have to go through a sequence of reestablishing connection. It takes me three minutes to leave the garage. Feels like I'm a pilot configuring the car for take off.

Another Subaru

Just added a 2023 touring xt to my 2020 outback in my garage. These are the best and safest cars you can buy, particularly for older people like my wife and I. Very safe and capable vehicle that you can get in and out of easily.

More for the money

Buying this from Cliff at Subaru of Kennesaw north of Atlanta was a wonderful experience, and we got more for the money. We love almost everything about our Outback XT. Decent lease terms.

Great car to have

Had a 2021 Subaru Outback and it performed well. Like all the bells and whistles. Just wanted a newer model and also turned in my old Kia.

2023 Subaru Outback Touring XT Purchase

Ordered and purchased a 2023 Subaru Outback Touring XT through Gold Rush Subaru in Auburn, CA. We were specifically looking at this brand and model, as we previously purchased a 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6r . We were extremely pleased with our entire experience with this dealer and the two people we worked with, Jessica Jasper and John Ingrim. From start to finish they both met and exceeded our expectations and both their and the dealer's follow-through was exceptional. In addition to these folks, we also have high praise for their Service and Parts departments. We highly recommend the Subaru brand due to their high ratings in Safety, Reliability, and Quality.

The Good, the Bad, and . . . .

Smooth, quiet ride. Gas mileage is OK. Front-view camera is somewhat useful. Rearview camera gives a clear view but doesn't register objects in deep shadow well. But there are problems. Too many controls are integrated into the touch screen in the dash. This requires a driver to look away from the road to find controls instead of doing it by feel, which decreases the safety of the vehicle. Air conditioning/heat is integrated into the touch screen controls, as are the controls for audio. The GPS mapping system is a disaster. Major roads that have been in place for over 60 years sometimes don't even appear on the map. Few roads and city streets are identified by name, leaving the driver to play Guess What Street We're On in unfamiliar territory. Major, major turnoff. Still not sure if that can even be fixed. The glovebox has been downsized and is now only big enough for one glove. A ledge in the dash above the glovebox is too small to serve for anything functional. A handy storage tray that used to be located under the back floorboard has disappeared, leaving little storage room for the odds and ends that are handy to carry along. The engine comes equipped with a function that idles or turns off the engine during stops. Frequently, our Outback will suddenly lurch 15-45 seconds after stopping, which is nerve-wracking. The EyeSight function in our model frequently fails for no observable reason, but returns within a minute or two. However, during that time, the safety features such as collision avoidance are disabled. Overall, a good vehicle that has some considerable flaws.
