Breaks went out, but it's never leaked oil
Mine is a 1998 with 156k on the ODO and it's 2024 and it's not leaking oil. Every car I've ever owned over 10 years old did. It leaks power steering fluid very quickly and I've never had that happen before. I had a 1975 AMC Hornet a few years ago and it leaked everything but power stearing. But to be fair it's not going to destroy the car if I don't replace it. I've driven the car for a year so far and outside of difficulty making tight turns, it's fine. The drivers door latch sometimes sticks and the door can't close, but 30 seconds with a screw driver and it's as good as new and the trunk latch does the sane thing once in a while. It's a 25 year old car and it isn't leaking anything but power steering. However, after I bought it a year ago the entire breaking system went completely out and cost $1700 to fix. So, there's that. Entirely new breaks and break lines all around. Everything except the master cylinder.

Good, dependable, durable
It got me where I needed to go. Good top speed. Held up to a fair amount of abuse. Body could have kept going, but the transmission could not after 20 years.

Solid car
The Acura CL Coupe is a reliable, solid vehicle. While I have had to fix a few things on the car (the ignition switch was recalled for example), overall, I have had to do very little to maintain this car. My biggest complaint is the mediocre gas mileage, but it is a V6 to be fair.

The Car That rescued me!
I was in need of a vehicle, and this young lady was selling her car it needed to be fixed up some. So I fixed the car up and that car was very good to me. Until I was in a car accident and my car was written off. But before my write off I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with this vehicle.

My Sporty, Trusty 2.3CL
I owned my 5 spd Black 2.3CL since 2006, when it had 68,000 km. Now, with 213,000 km on it, it keeps on going. Except for the odd issue, like starter, alternator, brakes, it hasn't given me any issues. I have done some custom suspension work on it as well as a cold air intake and chip to improve performance, and it hasn't disappointed. Honda was smart enough to introduce VTEC (variable valve timing) much earlier, in 1993 or '97 I believe, before any other manufacturers, like the Domestics, thus the fuel economy has been there and still is from the beginning. I average, 32 mpg or better any day, on a 14 yo car. I dare anyone to compare. Honda also didn't try to trick us, like the Domestics, into buying cars that don't actually get what they say, or misusing the highway mileage as the average. I am happy, I have to part with it because I would like something newer, otherwise it has been a great, fun car, with the little luxuries that Acura affords.

Great car.
We 're the second owner of this CL and we just love it. It is the best car and is so reliable. Never has it given us any kind of trouble. '99 for certain is definitly a good year for this car. We have never had a better car. This car is very comfortable, it has great visibility while driving, super strong Air Conditioning, great factory radio. Everything is top quality and design on this car. Drives and handles wonderfully. We are spoiled with it and are still not selling it. Have put on 150k miles and it still runs strong and like new. A real gem of a car and top-notch refinement and quality.

Fast, smooth, great bang for the buck!
Love this car, purrs at 120 like your going 75 and yet decent mileage. Has all the bells and whistles that most new cars still lack.
