I love my MDX!
I researched the 2011 MDX for 9 months before I purchased it. I love the interior and the cool features of the Tech Pkg? It does drive a tad bit rougher than my Mercedes, but it is an SUV so I had to get used to characteristic. Overall, I am exceptionally pleased!

Haven't loved a car this much since..my last Acura
Love this car. Lot's of room, great handling, smooth ride. I purchased the technology and entertainment package, so we have all the the DVD system and the seat warmers in the back. Only down side is poor gas mileage.

Smooth but yet tough
After a lot of time researching several SUV's and cars, we finally decided on an Acura mainly due to its rating, lower cost of ownership and its value for money. The car (tech package) is smooth, powerful and nicely equipped. The controls can take you some time to get used to but given the tech savvy audience these days, it should not be a big challenge for the average buyer to get used to the features of the car. For the price we paid, we felt the interior can be a little richer (with leather trims instead of some synthetic finish).

Great car
Car is everything we want, a nice luxury feel with awesome power and great family seating. There are some features that should have been standard like a push start which was one of our likes. Heated and ventilated seat should have been an option of it's own. In order to get the ventilated seat you have to opt for the advance package, which is thounds more Other then that wife loves the car

Dissapointment
This is my second MDX. My first a 2001 that I drove for 10 years and 190K. The 2010 impressed me to no end with its cat-like ride compared to its predecessor. But - day one I had a vibration. Dealer effort did not fix it. Tire specialists did not fix and I've been back three more times. It is only noticeable at high speed and I drive a ton of highway. Balancing has NOT fixed the problem. I would have expected better from a car in this price range. To be fair - city travel is very comfortable and all who ride in second row report a great ride. I'd really like to get this fixed as it is such a better car than my first. But - given my commute needs - I have started my search to replace it. Its no fun feeling like I'm sitting on top of my dryer at 80mph.

2011 MDX Technology
Needed a sooner than expected replacement after my 2005 X5 3.0 got totalled in an accident. After looking at 2012 X5, 2011 Q7 and MDX I ended up purchasing an MDX and my findings are based on two months of usage. Performance: In terms of performance I did not feel a lot different than the X5 (I had low expectations going into the MDX), of course the steering feel is no where close to the X5 and it took a while to get used when making turns and parking. Brakes felt good and there was enough engine power when needed and you can actually feel the SH-AWD working when the torque moves to the external wheel during curves/turns. There is a little wind noise at higher speeds but it not too bad and seemed normal and with the sound system you do not feel it much. Driving in all the rain we got in Chicago past few weeks was never a problem and the MDX handled exceptionally except for the lack of rain sensing wipers. Technology Package: If you have longer commutes or a music buff, opt for the technology package and you will not be disappointed. The sound output is amazing and I did not have trouble connecting my iPhone on Bluetooth and connecting an older iPod using the USB/AUX. There are a few minor issues like it would not store mp3 cds on the built in hard disk. Only audio CDs get ripped on to the hard disk. The backup camera is pretty useful. The voice recognition for music search and navigation works good though I cannot say the same about the navigation software. Having got used to google, I found searching for locations difficult since it does not sort by distance (maybe there is an option and I have not explored it) and I end up searching on my iPhone and then inputting the address. Interior: Needed a 7 seat option because of pressure from the wife and kids. Kids like the third row but there are no ac vents in the third row. Getting in is a challenge for adults like all three row SUVs and my daughter likes to climb in through the trunk and use one seat in the third row. The driver and passenger seats are extremely comfortable and the leather feels nice but seats could be more supportive. The second row middle seat for anyone more than average height would be inconvenient for the passenger because he would be seeing directly into the rear view mirror and the blacked out portion of the windshield. Its also inconvenient for the driver because the entire view would be blocked. The room between the rear headrests and ceiling seems less than normal and it took a while to get used to the rear visibility which was a little annoying. The gauges are a little crowded and I could never see the full fuel gauge in whatever position I adjust the seat or the steering. The wiper stalk was always coming in the way. Probably Acura would make them cleaner in the next version. The reviews said too many buttons but I got used to them. Like for example in the X5 reducing the fan speed all the way would switch it off and they just have two buttons, but in the MDX there is a button for on and off for the fan apart from the two buttons for increasing and decreasing the fan speed. Its more of user experience thing and nothing more. Hope you go the point. Exterior: I am hoping someone at Acura design got fired for all the beak grills they have. I just wish they hired better designers maybe they were trying to cut down costs and had the Honda designer multi tasking. The front grill is difficult to get used however I look at it. Maybe the 2009 grill was better. Other than that it looks sleek and does not feel like a 7 seater. I got the black roof rails and rack just to make it look like an SUV. I wrote more about the things that I did not like so people can make informed decision if that is something they care for. It does not mean I did not like the car. MDX is one of the best luxury damily SUVs and all I can say is for the money it is the best 7 seat SUV that you can get. Similarly equipped X5s (I could not find many 7 seaters even though I wanted to buy an X5) and Q7s were atleast 10k more and of course you get more prestige with them. I saved the 10k and will see how long I can resist to stay away from a BMW.

Acura MDX
Gas mileage is 17 highway. no where near the 22 that they said on the sticker. I had a Seqouia that got 15 mpg with regular --now I have to use premium and only increased mileage by 2 mpg. This is a costly mistake. I guess they got 22 mpg on highway by only driving 55mph. I am a slow and steady driver and there are no hills so I am not sure what else to do to increase MPG. Front bucket seats are low and not enough room for tall people with long legs.

Most Fun Car I've Owned
I owned a Toyota 4Runner, and Honda Passport in the past, my wife made me trade both of them because she thought the cars were not safe. So when time to buy new car, I did some research and compared with other SUVs. I told her the next car will be Acura MDX, she was very hesitated about it. I brought her to a dealer to test drive. She thought the car was good but still not convinced. I bought the car anyway. She drove the car work next day, she called me and she she really love it. Best car we ever had. Just this weekend, I took my son to the park. I was sitting in the car while my son was riding his bicyle around the track. A couple of girls was playing basketball walked by and keep looking at the car and at me. It felt good althought I wish I was still single and available :-).
