Bonded with, but..

Bought used in 2000. Never enjoyed driving a vehicle so much. Handling is its greatest asset. It has the 2.8 L engine with Quattro, which exudes power and control. That said, at 91K, it needs tie rods. Biggest weakness is display unit for trip computer, etc. It fades fast with time. Been replaced twice, and becomes unreadable after a year or so.

It's a "cute" car.

This car is wonderful on gas if your looking for performance with economical benefits. The exterior styling is sporty and playful, The interior is very basic, but elegent at the same time. Maintance is very easy for the do-it-yourself. Handling is very good around corners, and glides across the street very nicely. For the money though I would reccommend getting a similar car offered by BMW.

Most reliable and exciting to drive car I've owned

This car won driver of the year car 2 years in a row and is without a doubt a pleasure to drive. The car sticks to the road cornering beautifully. A real treat to any car driver enthusiast. This car is a drivers car.

Good, solid, reliable

I bought my A4 Quattro automatic brand new in 1997, and have about 115k miles on it so far. I've had no major repairs. The only things I've had to fix have been: (1) the cd changer - obviously not Audi's fault - had to be replaced twice because it skipped, (2) the motor for the driver's seat went around 80k, and (3) many many brake rotors :c) I'm definitely NOT going OEM with the next rotors. I love this car, and I look forward to driving it for the next 100k miles. It's aging very gracefully and showing no outward signs of wear or tear. I've been good about the maintenance, but not fanatic. If you can find a good deal on one, take it.

cheat, fun and stylish

Let's start with the good things. The interior is as good as it gets, it is not flashy very functional. The exterior styling is also understated and timeless. The car is heavy but handles well particularly at high speed cornering. The stability control does a good job, particularly during hard breaking. The 1.8T engine is not the fastest of the line but come to life around 3000 rpm. Alltogether, with 17 inch wheels it is a entertaining ride. The upkeep is going to cost you a lot. But so far I didn't have any major problems. Get a mechanic that knows what he is doing and doesn't charge an arm and a leg and you'll be fine.
