Charging, other issues, and many error messages started
Charging, other issues, and many error messages started immediately after. We delayed trying it on a public charger, as there were few in this area open to us. The first time we took the car on a trip, it stranded us constantly. We could not get it to charge at any of at least 5 different brands of recommended public chargers (Electrify America, etc.). We were stranded for 5 hours on a Sunday, in a small town, unable to charge the car. We finally determined that the charge port of the vehicle was not working properly and couldn’t take the weight of public charging hoses. It took us twice as long to get home as a result. The second trip we took, we thought we had the issue resolved, as we had bought an adapter from the dealer ($200) to allow us to charge at Tesla Superchargers, which were faster and more conveniently located. However, even with the adapter, we still couldn’t charge the car most of the time, and ended up having to take it to an Audi dealer in San Antonio, where we were briefly visiting. This delayed our departure. They said the charge port needed to be replaced, but we couldn’t wait for them to order and receive the part. When we returned, we had to insist that Audi Plano replace the charge port which they were reluctant to do. We were very specific before purchase, telling them we were unhappy with the ride on our previous vehicle (Tesla Y) and wanted a better ride. They assured us that this car had an adjustable suspension, and we saw that this was the case in the MMI. However, we saw no difference among all the rides (“comfort” was still rough) and have since learned that our model DOES NOT CHANGE THE SUSPENSION AT ALL, EVEN THOUGH THE MMI ALLOWS YOU TO MAKE THOSE CHOICES. We were also assured that, as with our Teslas, we could remotely lock and unlock the car through the app. THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS VEHICLE. No remote locking or unlocking is available. We are also unable to remotely start the climate control, which means that on very hot or very cold days, we have no climate control until we sit in the vehicle and set it. Aside from these issues, we have had constant error messages: Could not start climate control Drive system malfunction! Please contact service Climate control settings for Q4 e-tron could not be set. Unknown error in vehicle communication. There is no key user for this vehicle yet. Log into your myAudi user account in the vehicle, and then follow the instructions in the myAudi app to set up the key user. Climate control/auxiliary climate control/auxiliary heating could not be started. Your vehicle may be in a location with limited connectivity. The connection could not be established. Please make sure that you have selected a device compatible with the smartphone interface. Yellow battery symbol warning. The Wi-Fi network “Audi_MMI-1993” does not appear to be connected to the internet. No charging history yet. Electrical system malfunction! Please contact service. Please activate the Drive system, otherwise the system will turn off shortly. Warning for Q4 e-tron, safety system fault. An error has occurred, could not start climate control. Could not start climate control. To protect the vehicle battery, the action is currently not available. Climate control settings for Q4 e-tron could not be set. Unknown error in vehicle communication. We have been notified by the service department that one of the outstanding issues (which was into dealer 3 times without fixing) will require a battery cell replacement, which can take MONTHS TO REPAIR. The car has been in for 70 days, SO FAR, for service issues since we owned it: 3/12/25 1-day 3/17/25 3-days 7/2/25 (Mckinney). 1-day 11/18/25 2-days 12/26/25 (San Antonio) 1-day 1/6/26 16-days 2/3//26 24-days 3/12/26 8-days 3/31/26 (So far) 10 days

The 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron 55 is a decent car with horrible software issues: * Doors do not unlock when your hand is inside any exterior door handle, even when holding the key fob in the other hand. The buttons on the key fob must be used to open the door. This has been an issue since the day I drove it home from the dealership. * The clock must be set manually because the automatic setting is in a different timezone * Climate control cannot be activated or scheduled from the app. The error message in the app says climate control cannot be activated to protect the battery. This happens even when the battery is charged to 90%. * Climate control settings are not retained from the last drive (A/C turns off) * Climate control sometimes fails even when scheduled from inside the car * Intermittently, a warning message blocks the entire center screen, preventing the use of audio, CarPlay, or any other infotainment features. The warning message says that the car will turn off soon, but thankfully it never does. * Intermittently, AC charging fails with a "charging system malfunction". Unplugging and then plugging in again fixes it. * The charge port has no button to release the charging handle, and unlocking the doors does not immediately release it. You have to wait a few seconds after unlocking before the charging handle can be removed. Anyone who doesn't know this trick thinks the car is broken. Very poor design. The charging handle should not be linked to the door locks. * Audi never releases new versions of software, OTA or otherwise, so these issues will never be fixed
