The first used car I've owned

Because I've heard so many horror stories about used cars like you are buying into someone's headache, I have never in my 25 years of driving bought a used car. But with hard economic times, I have decided to take some risk and have bought a used BMW 328i with 13,200 miles. The car runs like brand new. I like the the power and handling of the car. The transmission and engine is quiet and silky smooth. Styling is on the sporty side which is hard to find on a sedan. All in all, this is the perfect car for my wife without crashing our bank account.

Like to drive?

Buy anything else. Love to drive? Buy the Bimmer. The XI is flat out awesome in snow and I know cause I live here in the N.E. USA. Alot of cars are faster off the line, but when it comes to handling curves in the road you'll be saying "get out of my way". Brakes? Stop on a dime. Safety? Not even a topic. It's a Bimmer. Comfort? 128K later I'd buy my car off the lot. Cost to repair? My wife's '08 Mazda 6 cost a lot. All cars do nowaday. Fun? Again like to dive? Or Love to drive? Drive one for a week you'll never look back.

German Design and Engineering

This is for the 328i Wagon. This car is an absolute blast to drive - it has excellent handling and acceleration. I am 6-3 and fit in just fine - it is quieter, better ergonomically, faster, and more reliable than my old A4 Avant (which was a very good car). Even though CR rates the 328i better than average in reliabilty, I got a CPO as parts can be expensive for bimmers. Drive it and you will probably buy it.

BMW

Great bang for your buck, especially if purchased used! Love the handling, performance, and overall clean lines. The interior, is a bit too simple when compared against similar Mercedes or in the same class or even the Acura TSX. Car design is minimal yet clean. Would recommend to any entry level BMW driver.

We love this car

We bought this 328 coupe to replace an older 330 convertible and could not be happier. The 2008 has more interior room, and the performance of the 328 is more than adequate, quite a bit more! My wife and I love the handling, excellent fuel economy, and styliing of the coupe. It is quiet and the sound system is great. We have had no problems and enjoy the BMW service program.

Great car!

I just bought my 328i sedan, 2008 model, with only 13,000 miles on it, for a great price. Buying a used car has its inherent risks, but so it has its rewards. The car so far has been great, better than I expected. I wanted to go first with the 335i model, since it has more horsepower, but frankly, unless you're racing the car on the track, there is literally no difference in performance and acceleration between the 328i and 335i in everyday driving situations. The handlig is superb, as it has been said, especially when taking corners, and the car is overall very easy to drive and maneuver. Add to this the great visibility due to the compact size of the car and the window styling, and it almost feels like there is no blind spot when changing lanes. The car is very comfortable, it has great suspension and body-molding seats and since I got it, I have gotten rid from a lower back pain, which I now attribute to the awful seat support of the Chrysler car seats that I had. The car is not too big, it is not a Lexus or a Mercedes, but it is not small either. I'm 6ft tall and when I seat I push the seat all the way back, there is still plenty of room behind me in the back sit for a full-size adult. Love the sound system and all the bells and whistles that come with the car. I feel spoiled everytime I get into the car, and I get out more often now for a smoke, just to look at the car. I tell to myself, even if it breaks down, it is just a pretty thing to look at. By the way, I have done about 500 miles of highway driving, the car is very fuel efficient, on average 33 miles to the gallon on highway. Granted, it takes premium gas, but hey it is a premium car... If you can find one used for a reasonable price with low miles, and are looking for a great car in all respects, performance, comfort, peace of mind and fuel efficiency go for the 328i series. Don't worry about what they say about the car being slippery on the snow, there was a lot of snow here last week and the car did just great, no difference whether snow or not.

First Beamer

For my first BMW, I am not impressed. The inside is small, which I espected, but the comfort inside is lacking. The small details were left out, such as placing the cup holder inside the center console, which makes that unusable. There is nothing really extra to this car compared to other luxury vehicles, and it really isn't close to be worth the money. This car should sell in the high teens to low twenties at max. The leather is nice, but it doesn't vent well. The backseat is entirely too small for anyone to sit, even in my 4 door. On the flip risde, the style of the car is beautiful, which is what sold me on the car. It drives like a dream around corners, but it is VERY bumpy. You feel every bump in the road as if it were a speed bump. It has great pick up for passing.

328i A Driver's Car

The 328i is indeed a car meant to be driven. One of the best sports sedans I have ever owned. Both engine and automatic transmission are smooth, silky and responsive. The exhaust note is not loud neither tiring. The car is extremely well balanced, the steering feel precise, responsive and the feedback is extremely accurate. Fit and finish is very good and reliability so far has been excellent. Despite being a tad snug, the seats are very comfortable and offer excellent support. The rear seat is definitely not for adults. Some of the controls, including the radio, are a bit unintuitive and take some time to master. The car accelerates smoothly, beautifully and corners as if it was riding on rails. The brakes are top notch, with little or no fade they utterly can make the car stop on a dime. The 328i is a well balanced, sophisticated and engineered automobile that is pleasant to drive daily. If you are contemplating on buying & can afford it, I suggest you do not hesitate to break the bank. You will not regret it!
