Best Looking 6 Series Ever

I have owned several BMWs but this one is by far the best. The inline six delivers power along with exceptional MPG. Ride is firm but controlled. Interior design is exceptional and second to none.

Sporty and comfortable

Change from Comfort mode to Sport mode and it kicks in like a turbo charge. The styling is elegant without sacrificing function. The 640i is all BMW!

Handsome and sporty big coupe

2012 640i coupe, bought in 2015 with 18k miles, currently 50k miles. Traded in a C6 Corvette, so wanted something sporty, but wasn't quite ready to go the 4 door route. This car is a head turner, I get as many if not more compliments in this one as compared to the Vette. Extremely comfortable tourer, used mostly for highway miles. It'll hustle on back roads, but you can tell it's a larger car. 32-33 mpg on trips, currently averaging 26 mpg in mixed use. The interior is gorgeous! High hood line limits front 3/4 visibility and the hood goes on forever, learn to stop short of curbs or back into parking spots to save the front lip. Reliable, quick, comfy and sporty... it's a jack of all trades.

Bmw640i 2012

Overall an excellent buy , grat performance vehicle exterior styling is some thing to behold , interior is ver comfortable for a sports car , ample leg room , easily navigable features for the driver . A few features I would have liked to see differently would be the dash as its designed reflects on the windshield and is annoying . Entering the address into the navigation system is tedious I think a touch screen would make it easier and finally when you plug in your charger for devices your hand ends up reting on it. But still an excellent car !

bmw 640i coupe

let me contribute to the pool of reviews about this car... first of all it must be said that i compare the feeling from this car with that from a Jaguar XJ i have been owning before and at the same time. I must say that the Jaguar is a class-up no matter how much more technology there is packed in this BMW. Also, i must say that looking back at other coupes 15-20 years old, i have a feeling that all recent models discriminate the back seats for an unknown reason... a car of the same outside dimensions and class back then could easily ride 4 people, which is not the case now, with the exception of the (inside) ugly Merc CL and a sexy but technically obsolete Maser GT. Anyway, credit is given to the huge trunk of the BMW and the ski-sack. Golfers will have no problem to fit in 2 bags, 2 trolleys and all the rest needed. But: 1) the car is noisy (tarmac sound), mainly from the back side, i believe it is the wide run-flat tires and lack of proper isolation (for a true GT). 2) there is a weird unlinear acceleration supply from 0 to city pace, in comfort and comfort+ modes, making the ride feel unpredictable on faster escapes from crossroads. This is very annoying and in fact prevents me from thinking of using the car in winter. 3) the steering wheel feels too tight to turn. i am wondering what is the reason of this, because the sportiness is definitely NOT an equal to toughness. As is written in other reviews, the feedback is not like in a sport car, so why the manufacturer bothers the driver by using an unnecessary force ? OK, to cap this, i must say the car is really loaded with technology and many pleasant features (soft-close doors, head-up display, auto-hold function, anti-swaying mechanisms, very nice 8-speed transmission, etc.) one more thing: the steering wheel looks so cheap and disproportionate... the grip is excellent, but the design is surely not on par with the rest of the car. Do not get the wrong message, i still enjoy driving this car, it is my first BMW, and i love the look of the 2012 BMW Z4, but i have a crescent feeling that BMW will not be the future car of mine.
