BMW M3 Sedan-The Fastest Dad Car Available

Raw, Refined, Reliable BMW wizardry. Engineered like no other car in the world. This car destroys previous M3 cars. Mind Blown by how many improvements BMW made over the previous iteration E92.

2018 BMW M3 Competition

I absolutely love this sport sedan. BMW has set the bar high again with the Competition Package M3. I particularly enjoy the split personalities of the vehicle due to the M adaptive suspension, steering, and engine response. The handling is sharp and inspires more confidence than many other vehicles I?ve driven. The chassis gives quite a bit of feedback, which I feel is important for a car this powerful. And despite what many other reviewers have said, the factory exhaust note is not as meek as it seems. Efficiency mode shuts off the bypass exhaust valves, Sport or Sport plus opens them up to radiate glorious burbles and sharp exhaust pops on downshifts. No doubt an M Performance Exhaust system would sound that much better though. That option should be available from factory as well. Fuel efficiency is not this vehicles strong suit, but for a 445hp sedan, it does surprisingly well. Most of my commute is city driving, and I?m currently averaging around 20.5mpg. Highway routes drastically improve the vehicles efficiency if you stay off the fun pedal. Comfort is slightly compromised for this car. The Competition Package includes more track inspired seats and 20? wheels along with a stiffer suspension. Local roads can be rather challenging dodging large pot holes. But take it into a hard corner and you?ll soon forget about the harsh ride quality.

Exciting to drive

I recently bought a 2018 BMW M3 Competition. I was drawn in by the sporty, yet refined interior and exterior designs, as well as the powertrain. This particular vehicle is very well equipped, making it an excellent daily driver with loads of performance. The twin turbo inline 3.0L engine provides better fuel mileage than one might expect when in efficiency mode, however put the car in ?Sport Plus? and it pulls steadily in low rpm until the turbos spool up. At which point the car embeds you into the seats without remorse. The giant M Performance brakes are more than capable of detaching retinas. The adaptive M dynamic suspension does an excellent job of keeping the car flat through the corners, but being extremely stiff, shows you no mercy over rough roads. In addition the 20? Competition wheels, which look amazing, do no favors in the comfort department either. But they really aren?t supposed to. Those of us looking to enjoy this car are more than willing to accept the extremely rigid suspension. That said, the Competition seats are extremely comfortable, in part to the huge adjustable bolsters. The adjustable steering is a new feature for me, and getting used to it took a few days. I don?t have any complaints about the steering. It provides good feedback, functions well, and the steering modes offer further enhancement to your ?Ultimate Driving Experience?. The interior is well appointed and is extremely well thought out. The iDrive system is fantastic and gives the driver more personalization of the car, driver profiles, and menus. My vehicle is equipped with Apple CarPlay and the Harmon Kardon premium sound system, both of which I absolutely love. Being an enthusiast, I chose this vehicle most specifically for its 6-speed manual transmission. Shifting through the gears it feels extremely solid and engaging. The last feature of this car I really enjoy is the exhaust. I?ve watched a lot of videos and read a few reviews about the exhaust of this car being a bit disappointing. As an owner, I have to disagree. In efficiency mode the car is muted due the exhaust valves being in a closed position, routing the noise through the muffler. Toggle the throttle mode to ?Sport Plus? and the exhaust valves open up to radiate the burbling and crackling of the S55 engine. I personally enjoy the raucous sounds of the motor, although I may eventually opt for the M Performance exhaust to further enjoy the car. Overall this vehicle is nicely equipped and has tons of power available to enjoy. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in a high performance sports sedan capable of putting a big smile on your face when carving up the twisties.
