Great Local Travel Car

I moved from a stick shift car to this Encore. If I had a choice it also would be a stick shift as they are more fun to drive and better at gear usage than automatics. Sadly sticks are mostly history. That being said, this Encore is a great car for driving around town and for parking. The instrument panel is easy to use, reach and pleasing to the eye. Too many new car designers really mess up the dash in my opinion, Buick's designers for the most part don't. I've had no machanical issues in three years and 18,000 miles but than I obviously am not pushing it too hard. While I have taken it on long road trips, due to issues with our normal trip car, I don't recommend it for that as your primary long trip road car due to engine performance (again stick shift would help), seating comfort, and storage capacity. Gas mileage is good. What's the two things I don't like (covers most brands however: Navigation updates are way too expensive, hence I ignore them. If necessary I use a standalone Garmin with unlimited lifetime updates or several similar apps from our iPhones. This should be a lifetime benefit for buying the new car, all brands, not a continuing profit cash cow. Second would be the cost for mudflaps...again over priced add ons, they should be standard on premium trim levels. Bottom line is that I think it is a good brand and model for a senior to drive around town and an occasional road trip car for it's ease to get in and out off (front seats), gas mileage, parking, and instrument panel. The Encore GX is slightly bigger and might be better for some however they have a smaller engine than a regular Encore...not the direction I would have gone.

Very Good little SUV

Very reliable. Preferred Model packed with upgrades for the year. Just missing auto Liftgate. The beige tone “leather” seats were attractive but weirdly when wearing blue jeans, the blue color transferred to the seats, unable to clean off. When detailed it came off. Dealer stated this was an issue among the Encores. Comfortable interior except when I sat on passenger front, the seatbelt always up around my neck no matter how I lowered the belt & adjusted the seat, I am 5’1”. The driver seat at it’s highest height was just ok for me, wished it could have been a tad higher. Very reliable, & handled the icy & snowy roads super well. Always felt safe! Acceleration was fine for me, no complaints. Lots of blind spots when pulling out onto traffic due to front/ back wide window frames, really was a issue. , Not a great look, very Pudgy(short/round) Maybe the larger new GX Model which is a little bigger has a better look? Yet all & all it was very reliable..

Awesome car!

Awesome car for us! Not quite big enough to be an SUV, but roomier and more versatile than a regular car. Love the safety features and the ride is super smooth.

My First “real” car

This car has pretty much everything I wanted in a car...moonroof is ONLY thing missing. It’s affordable, comfortable, rides incredibly well, is quiet, and has enough bells and whistles without being too “fussy!”

Waited 18 years for a newer car!

The car met all of my needs and more! I am thrilled that I sit up higher and able to see more. The blind spot features on my outside mirrors are great and so is the sliding moon roof! Lots of space available! It’s a perfect fit for me!

Love the Buick Encore. Perfect for me!

Perfect size for me. I love driving a SUV but the large ones are too big for me. Easy to drive and easy to get into the garage.

Good car for the money

The Buick Encore is the smaller of the 3 crossovers. The nice thing is getting the Buick quality and styling at a lesser price. With a 4 cylinder it has pep in performance. It's great for someone needing a little extra room than a traditional sedan.

Cute little SUV

I had been admiring the cute little SUV for a few years, but the reviews weren't all that great. What I remember was "sluggish" and "good for city but not highway" So that deterred me from looking at one. Last thing I wanted was another gutless wonder.... so I bought a Honda Civic. Great on gas, but it has nothing. It's a boring little car that can't get out of it's own way. I decided to look at the cute little Encore. Beleive it or not, she is a hard worker, and can get out of the way! I was pleasently surprised! I've had her 2 years now and I love it. My only complain is the side mirrors. They are small. I had to add some spot mirrors to make lane changes safer. Love my little car. Gets about 28 city.
