2006 Buick Rendezvous consumer reviews

I loved my 06 buick Rendezvous CXL. I got it used with 130,000 miles on it . For 6.5 years it got me where I needed to go and I used UT as a work vehicle hauling thousands of lbs. I even got a tow hitch and towed first an 18' trailer then a 24' trailer that I used for scrap metal recycling. It pulled both like a champ. I towed loads over 6,000 lbs with no issues. But all good things must come to an end eventually. I did most of my own maintenence, and let's face it, I'm no mechanic. I don't know exactly what I did to my poor car. It starts up , but that's all it does. I'm debating on weather to retire it or fix it. Mechanics are so darn expensive. And I don't know if I can afford to fix it.

I bought a 2006 CXL AWD with a few miles on it from a dealer in Ohio. They said it was a "program car" but when I went to register the On-Star I found it was an Avis rental. I kept this vehicle well past the point of sanity because it was very easy for my father to get in and out of. He was in declining health at the time. At 70K miles these cars just fall apart. For the first 50 I put on it the thing was great. Had that "boat float ride" Buick is famous for, lots of space and storage. After that, you will pour all of your money into fixing it. If you hit even a minor chuck hole with the passenger front wheel you are looking at $1800-$3500 in repairs. The steering linkages and suspension are as fragile as glass. This is a car, NOT an SUV. If you live or drive in an area with bad roads it will bleed you dry. The crank (or is it cam?) position sensor is a North Korean knock-off quality part. Without throwing any codes your mileage will drop from 25MPG to 6MPG. You will spend a good $2000 just tracking back from the possible causes until it is determined _that_ must be what is bad. Guess what? It is underneath the exhaust manifold in a spot where no sensor socket can be used. At 70K miles you are _not_ getting the manifold bolts out, you are snapping at least one (usually all) of them, off. Now you get to pull the engine and either try your luck freehand drill and tapping new holes or you send the heads out to a service place. After $6000 in repairs over 5 weeks I took $2000 trade-in value and bought a Toyota Camry

Bought my 2006 Buick Rendezvous CXL in 2015 with 85,000 miles on it! It has been the best car I have ever owned! Done almost nothing to it other than oil changes brakes new tires! almost 217,000 miles and still going! Unfortunately, my daughter got into an accident with it and that finished it! Thankful she was ok! Wonder how long it would have gone!!!

Bought one used for $2500 in 2020. I knew I would have to put a bit of money into her since she had 125k miles at the time. With a little love and money spent ($1500, bought all the parts and did repair myself) she’s been driving like a dream the past two years!!!

I feel all my needs were met. What I was looking for was performance, how it drove, with comfort and it has good appearance inside and out.

I have driven this car for 7 years driving back and forth from the Denver airport to pick up friends and family then to go hiking and skiing the mountains. It proved to be comfortable for all sizes of passengers.

Bought used and love it still. Roomy seating and cargo area. Tranny fixed. Fuel lines replaced ..aging . Otherwise just usual care and oil changes

Too much problem..computer system and engines problems i spend it over $$3000.leaking changed lots of parts still making problems.money pit car...ill never buy again buick..

My 2006 rendezvous is aging, like me, but I cannot find another vehicle that gives me all that my Rendezvous does! I LOVE it, and would buy a new one just like it, but sadly, that is not an option...

I have poured money into this car. The car has been parked in my driveway since last Sat. I love this car but it has cost me so much money I can no longer afford to own it. It needs major repairs right now and I don't want to put another penny into it.
