small , but reliable and cheap to own
I have 78K miles on my '05 Aveo, and drive to work 65 miles round trip a day. I do all my own work and other than one set of tires at 40k have done nothing but gas and oil changes. I keep checking the brakes, but they look and work fine! I did change the trans fluid at 50k. It is a little tight inside if you're 6' tall, and dont expect sportscar acceleration with the 1.6L engine. However, you will be rewarded with as high as 38mpg on a long trip. The car gets over 30mpg always, averaging around 33mpg per tank with A/C on and auto trans!

I own this car
I love my Aveo. I have had it for four years and have only had one problem about 6 months ago. A belt came loose and it cost about $80 to repair. Gas Milage is great. Sound system is also great. The only thing I wish mine had was cruise control. This is a good car for a young person or a family of four. The one thing the Aveo is not good for is hauling stuff. The trunk is big but not big enough to get a decent amount of stuff moved in one trip. Absolutely worth the money and I don't plan on trading my Aveo in for a while.

Surprisingly shocked!!!
I had to burrowed my friends Aveo, because my Kia was in the shop (Story of its life!). I was very surprised that Chevy was actually able to build a decent subcompact. When the Aveo first came I first thought it was just going to be another Chevy metro with a different name, but it turned out to be a much better car. The Aveo is some what roomy except leg room for the driver could be improved, maybe if chevy would got rid of the foot it would make it a lot better. Handling is good and the steering feels very tight and predictable. Its no sports car but the engine seemed to have a enough power to keep up with traffic with three decent size people. I would like more otions than what my friend has, I have been looking and only find a few that are well equipped. Other than that, good car. Thinking about trading in the Kia asap.

great value in a car
We purchased this car new for my son, who is a musician. My only change would have been to get the hatchback, to make equipment loading easier. I drive a van, since I am a chubster, but I was surprised at the comfort and peppy performance I was getting, even with the automatic. Kind of bland exterior, but solid, reliable and economical (price, gas and upkeep)

Miles Per Gallon
The very first tank of gas, I got 40 mpg on the highway, and that's why I bought it! I have not been disappointed yet. The money that I save on fuel is makes the payment on my Aveo. I leave the SUV at home.
