One issue after another

I will never buy another GM product after this car. The entire cooling system went out at 75,000 miles. The temperature gauge went out around the same time. The heater core had to be replaced at 100,000 miles. Now an airbag sensor is out. Not worth it. If I spend thousands on a car, I expect it to last longer than 100k miles.

Overall a good running, reliable, good on gas, suv

plenty of room for a small suv. Reliable and good on gas. Little maintenance needed. Lots of power when you need it. I would buy one.

Still a very good car after 11 years and 104,000

Bought new on year end sale, a very good deal at $18 k for basic AWD model, similar interior size to previous Jeep Cherokee. I used it for city commuting for years, then as just local utility driver. Fun to drive, avg 18 mpg city and highway, comfortable with family. I would buy another of this model, but the new ones are bigger and 2 x as expensive, so I will keep this one. Generally reliable, but needed both front bearings (warranty), 3 batteries so far, fuel pump( special warranty), trans cooler lines, some elec lock problems. No engine or trans problems so far, but very compact and tight mechanical design makes all of these things difficult and expensive to work on. I like it overall, if you can find a good one used I would consider it, but have a mechanic check first to be sure it’s not heading for expensive repairs.

Great motor, poor exterior

Many have complained about the paint being faulty on some of this model. Mine is one of those. The paint just flakes off with no rust or cause. Also, the seals around the headlights are bad on this particular year. Mine are so yellow from the moisture, I can not see well with them. I love how well the motor runs and the interior is great. I only have 97K on this. That being said, I can't sell this for much of anything when I go to buy because of the exterior. Wish I had not bought one. After 5 GM vehicles, this will be my last. If they refuse to fix obvious faults from the factory, they do not deserve my business.

My first Car

To be fair, once I owned Sebastian (his name), he had a lot of miles on him in 2017... but we had a 2008, lasted my family 10years, got a blended family of 7 where we needed to go, back and forth to school and work. Took me to and from College, and eventually got me across country to California when the time came.. He was very roomy, could fit if not a lot a people, a lot of stuff.. Perfect for big families, lots of cup holders. Even gas wasn?t too bad, for an SUV.. when I was driving it just me as a single adult, I only had to fill him up 1 every two to three weeks, traveling about 5 to 10miles a day. I couldn?t afford the repairs when he started overheating but for as long as it lasted, he serviced me and my family well; he was a great car.

Comfy

This car is a great vehicle that gives just enough clearance and room without being too bulky. Parts of the interior design and components felt cheap and tacky, but overall a great little vehicle.

Nice suv for the price.

I purchased the 2008 chevy equinox lt and so far I am happy with the vehicle. The main thing I am enjoying, is the better gas mileage than the suburban I owned before.

Best vehicle you could ever own

Love my equinox. When I trade mine in...I'm getting another one. It's the only car I'm interested in. I've researched several vehicles, and the Chevy equinox is the only car I will ever own
