Just what we were looking for!
We are very pleased with having five adults seated in the car comfortably. Plenty of leg room front and back and the ride is smooth!

Chevy cut corners on quality of parts in engine
It rides nicely however it has turned into a money pit. Engine parts and craftsmanship lack in quality. Had to replace timing chain. These are supposed to last the life of the car. As apposed to a timing belt. The car is comfortable, ample leg room and a nice overall ride, I just cant recommend, because of reliability issues (timint chain) which is a known problem with this vehicle. Do yourself a favor and stick to a japanese made car. They are better engineered and seem to use better quality parts as of right now. This is coming from auto parts salvage yard and car repair center. They rarely see japaneese parts to resell whereas they have a large inventory of Chevy parts for resale. Thats proof enough for me. Good luck

Nice car, comfortable riding
My 2012 Chevy Equinox is nice. I have had issues with the engine and transmisssion. The engine warranty was extended due to a TSB but thank goodness I purchased the extended warranty because I would be out over $1500 due to a transmission fluid leak and the camshaft solenoids. Check the years when purchasing an Equinox and purchase the extended warranty when possible. Chevy is aware of these issues but hasn't opted to make the repairs free yet.

Not a good vehicle to buy
Had problems with this vehicle from day one. Problem after problem. Owned it for five months and looking for a different suv tomorrow. Talked to Chevy about my problems and they basically said they don?t care.

This car has everything I could want! Heated seats, remote start, and plenty of room for road trips with friends. I am so glad I went with the equinox.

Less than 50k miles. 3k that needs work
Timing belt, timing change= $$$ that chevy won't fix. This vehicle has less than 50k miles and now I have to pay for it. Read your reviews. Don't buy this vehicle. It was a waste of my money. Will never buy chevy again.

Not my best choice in a car
I bought my Equinox new in 2012...I only have 57K miles and MANY intermittent problems that concern me. Lots of engine work (covered by warranty thank goodness!), both inside door panels have had rust issues, rear lift pistons have had to be replaced, new timing chain/pistons. The ride is similar to a boat on the water pitching side to side on an uneven road. Shocks feel "stiff". The seat adjustment is not as variable as I would have liked. One of the biggest concerns is due to my 5' height I have a problem seeing past the side mirror (black triangular plastic opaque fill in / extra thick airbag curtain to make a safe complete right or left turn. A HUGE blind spot. Finally, the transmission "kick" at low speed acceleration is very annoying. The numerous times it happened I have looked in the RV mirror thinking someone had hit me from behind. Don't know if it is the fact it is a 4cyl. or not. The gas mileage is less than expected. Sorry GM but there are some MAJOR design flaws in this vehicle.
