My oh My
Bought this car for my wife for Christmas. She was completely stunned when seeing it in the garage Christmas morning. Black sapphire metallic 1lt with a poofy red bow, heh heh. The only thing that gm messed up on, is I had my heart set on getting the 17" rims. The window sticker says 17" fascia spoke wheel, THEY ARE HUBCAPS!!! Gm actually designed a 5 spoke steel wheel to accept the 5 spoke shiny chrome HUBCAPS. The car is great, it is comfy as heck, everybody has to look twice at it, especially when it is just washed. Great european style lines for the body (in my opinion). I love the xm, and apparently am going to have to continue service cause my wife loves it more. The ambient lighting, and having the center console cupholder closed really tighten up the interior looks. Extremely quiet ride, trunk is huge,,, opening way too small. Rear seatbacks have plastic on them if you are actually able stuff large items in the trunk. Would have loved to have gotten the power package with the outlets for laptops. Overall, cant wait until spring comes and can drive around and enjoy the ride alot more.

Sheer Luxury...feels like a $30K car!
I have owned Honda Accords all my life...wanted a change but was afraid of making a reliability change. Drove the 2008 Accord...was not impressed. Drove the 2008 Malibu and have been in love with it since. Only have 400 miles so cant really say much about reliability yet but am feeling confident! so quiet, so comfy, so pretty..you wont be dissapointed!

Looks great, bad interior.
The new Malibu looks fantastic, like it costs thousands more that it actually does. Unfortonutely the interior is terrible, especially in the LTZ V-6 model. The two-toned leather looks tacky, and I'd be embarrased to have that, but it's the only way to get the V-6. The I-4 is way too underpowered for the new Malibu that is a very heavy car. The backseat is the most uncomfortable backseat I have ever sat in. The seat are angle almost straight up, and have short seat bottoms. They are beyond firm, and feel like your sitting on hard plastic. In the end it comes down to if your willing to sacrifice comfort and power for looks. Overall I'm happy with the Malibu, but it needs some serious interior improvements. I personally still prefer my Accord, and Altima but I'd put the Malibu above the Camry this year.

The best midsize sedan GM has ever made.
The 2008 Chevy Malibu is one of the finest cars I've ever driven, and it's possibly the best sedan in its class right now. The car is stunning to look at both inside and out. There's loads of interior room and all the controls fall easily to hand. Exterior and interior fit and finish are superb. The entire car oozes attention to details, from the miniature bowtie emblems in the headlights to the chrome strip around the side glass to the soft purr of the car's 3.6L DOHC V6 engine. Performance-wise, it's just right. Enough power to pass with authority, but not so much that it's a gas hog or unstable. The car's 6-speed automatic shifts smoothly and crisply, and never fails to find the right gear for the job. My only complaints are twofold. First, while the wide rear C-pillars look great, they can hamper rear visibility. I'm sure with time you'll get used to that though. What I could have a problem with is the trunk. While actual trunk space is cavernous, the trunk opening is a bit too narrow and a bit too short, so it's difficult to get large packages inside. Forget about carrying that brand new TV home in the trunk--into the back seat it must go. Other than this, the car is an absolute stunner, and for around $25,000 for V6 LTZ trim it's a heck of a value. Accept no substitutes--GM is back with a vengeance. (Note: This is a brand-new car, which is why reliability was rated 3 stars. It's unproven)

Very, Very, Nice!!!
I have 700 miles on my car. My decision to get the 4cyl or the 6cyl was made for me as my dealer only had one in stock, and it was the 4!! I can't say I'm disappointed in anything in the vehicle. I've had SUV's for eight years so the mileage is wonderful. People have shown a lot of interest in the vehicle which makes it difficult to leave some parking lots. Twice I've had people waiting for me at my car!! I lease the vehicle so I got lucky finding an LS as I wanted a base car. The car wants for nothing even in base form. On star with turn by turn navigation is terrific. XM radio is great, and side air bags and anti lock brakes with traction control all standard!! The look is one of the best designs in years for GM, and finally a very basic great looking fabric!! See GM, that wasen't that hard was it!

Love Everything About This Car
The new malibu is awesome. I got the LTZ and there is nothing I don't like about it. It's an extremely quiet ride, the interior is great, the exterior is great and there are too many features to mention. The new design has definitely got people looking twice when they see it trying to figure out what it is. They should have renamed it the "MaliBenz". If you can find one, buy it. You won't regret it.

First American Car Owner
This is an awesome car! I have been a Import owner for many years. I was very impressed with the interior and fit & finish Chevrolet put into my Malibu. I have been very skeptical about american cars, but this is the first one I felt proud to own. I have owned it for 10 days now. It's a V-6. I got 36 mpg hwy at 65 mph with the a/c on for about 70 miles. I did get close to the sticker of 27 mpg at 80 mph. The interior is very clean looking. The exterior lines/gaps are very tight. It has a lot of punch on the highway. Even at 65 mph, if you need to pass someone, this car has great acceleration. The interior cabin is very quiet. I caught myself going with traffic near 85, but it did not feel like it.

Love My New Malibu
I have had my '08 Malibu for 5 days and I love it! The exterior is striking and the interior reminds me of a late 50's or early 60's Vette, so classy. I have the 3.5 Ltr. V6 w/4Speed Auto. It has great acceleration, corners very well and with the 4 wheel disks it will stop on a dime and give you a nickle change. Chevy is going to have to "give away" Impalas this year, this car is going to "fly" off the lots. If you are in the market for a new "midsize" car. Go drive all the imports and then bring your checkbook to the chevy dealer. Chevy got it right this time!

Best Car In Class
I have driven the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, and Nissan Altima and without a doubt this is the best car in its class. Chevrolet really did a great job of making the ride comfortable and most importantly quiet. The standard options such as Onstar and XM Satellite Radio make this vehicle the best value in this market! I urge everyone to go out and drive this Malibu and you can find out for yourself that this is a car you can't ignore!
