This has been my first vehicle and it's so easy to drive.

This has been my first vehicle and it's so easy to drive. Super fun too! Perfect for street driving around town and any small projects. It's super easy to park and it has excellent visibility out the back and sides. I've loved it and I'm sure you will too.

Mine is pushing 300000

I have a 20000 2.2 with manual trans that is pushing 300000 miles . I have had some minor usual repairers like alternator, starter , radiator but nothing major and it always starts .

High miler

Bought used low mileage years ago, now has 278000 on it. Mostly Hiway miles. Other than the usual parts, it's been very reliable. Hope for 300,000, then think about something else. Always has rode rough unless loaded, and the 2.2 isn't a powerhouse by any means. These little trucks are a little heavy (3200 lbs) so the 4 cylinder isn't really up to the task. That said, these really are trucks and not a toy. Still like mine!

In family since new.

Very reliable, Lacks Power w/4cyl. Manual trans. 28mpg. Very few repairs needed @ 166K. Sets for extended periods & still starts. (Winter included) Drove for 10hrs @ a time with minimal discomfort.

Not too shabby.

Purchased at low miles. Drove until I destroyed engine just under 200k. Drove with cooling system problems without fixing. Stupid... 1k for a clutch. I ride clutches so my bad. Besides my mistakes it was a reliable truck. Not a comfy ride but that's most small trucks. Overall very happy.

Most Car Efficient Car I’ve Ever Owned

Never shut off on me. It drives good and has a decent sound system. $25 will fill up the tank and last for a while.

Was great, till it wasn't

The truck is nothing special. It gets what it needs to get done and it does it well. The 2.2L engine does feel very gutless. Merging onto the freeway, I'd have my foot slammed on the accelerator and it'd slowly get up to speed. But recently it's been causing a headache in the family. The downstream O2 sensor failed and so we replaced to no avail, it came back. Truck has been towed twice because we don't have the space to work on it. Just wish it wasn't old and a GM car.

Would be awesome if it lasted

Its a good truck in that it can do most everything you need in a truck. I have the extra duty suspension with the longer bed and can pretty much haul anything the full size do. Interior is plain vanilla but very serviceable. Exterior again plain but not ugly either. The biggest negative is the horrible reliability. Ater 100k miles it literally starts one problem after another. It's like it was designed to fall apart at 100k to force a new purchase. Totally unacceptable even for a 98 vehicle. Parts are cheap and easy to install but the cost adds up fast when you start replacing everything.

Good, solid, smaller pick-up.

Small interior but reliable motor and drivetrain. Solid brakes. Smooth shifting. A good all around, economic pick up truck that I would recommend to anyone

I got this truck as soon as I got my drivers license. Like any teenage boy your gonna be rough on vehicles and the s-10 did great. Even so much as when my little brother got his license he got to drive it too. I recommend this truck to anyone they run forever
