A repeat for us

We just wanted to upgrade to a newer vehicle, but chose not to change the make or model..this truck looks great, rides smooth and pulls our camper with no problem...and nice not to have to learn new things...setup very similar but also a few improvements..a good fit!

New 18 Silverado Amazing Truck

This is my 2nd Silverado LTZ Dbbl Cab 4WD and it is an amazing vehicle. I ordered it with the 6.2 / 8 Speed and a few added features including Drivers safety assist package and the new performance front brake package. It is by far the best truck I have ever had. It is smooth, very quick and quiet. For me the additional cost for the performance brake package and it?s incredible stopping power when you need it is well worth it. This resolved my traditional complaint on bringing full size 2T + trucks to an emergency stop. The red Brembo designed front calipers look great too.

Don't make a $40,000+ mistake like I did.

Ever since the body style change in 2014 I've wanted a new Silverado. I had a 2007 Silverado extended cab Z71 4wd 5.3 that I bought new, it was a great truck, but it had 156,000 miles on it and I wanted a crew cab. I sold my old truck in December and looked for a month until I found just the truck I wanted at the right price. 2018 Silverado LT, crew cab, 4wd, 5.3, my dream truck. Before it had 500 miles on it I could tell something wasn't right. The 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd shift had a hesitation and was sloppy. At speeds 25 to 45 mph it felt like it would miss or shudder, not terrible but I could feel it. In the mornings it would idle at 1100 rpm, and run terrible for the first several miles. I took it to the local Chevy dealer and we drove it, they told me the transmission had to "learn" my driving style and it might take 2000 miles before it would improve. After some investigation on the internet, I found there was a lot of people with 2016 and 2017 with the same problems, GM actually has a name for it "chuggle and fish bite". I called GM and opened a complaint but basically got the runaround. At 2000 miles I took it back to the dealership armed with service bulletin numbers for the 2017 that were giving trouble. They drove it and said there was problem with the way it shifted but because the TCM service bulletins were for 2017 and my truck is a 2018 they couldn't perform thoses updates. But there was another ECM update and they did that and it shifted better. Bottom line is my truck doesn't run right. I have tried to call the GM customer service rep I have talked to last, he gave me his extension number. But I have left two messages and he hasn't called me back. I wish I had kept my old truck, it would run circles around this one.

Most powerful truck I have ever driven

I picked the 1500 series with the 6.2 engine and the tow max package that has a max tow rating of 11,500 pounds. It has unbelievable performance empty and tows 10,000 pounds with ease. The heavier suspension handles loads much better than my last truck that did not have the tow max suspension. If you are looking for a Corvette that tows 11,500 pounds and has a bed capable of hauling 3000 pounds this is your ride!

Wow!!

Love this vehicle. Handles beautifully, and packs a nice punch, power-wise. Only issue I had was no assist handle for the driver. Looks awesome as well.

A decent truck, needs more usable power.

Got a 2018 Silverado LT. nice and comfortable on my back more than the F150. Sadly the motor performance is fair at best. I am not sure if it is too many gears to choose from or if the 5.3 motor is just that lacking. Always feels like it wants to buck and jerk, unless driven in tow haul. Poor power band. The ford has much better performance than the Chevy. Hands down. Comfort wise tho, for my back, the Chevy wins. So it is a toss up at least for me, comfort or performance. Other than that, this is a nice truck to be in and use.
