great all around vehicle

What is it ! !!! a car? truck? Suv? Crossover? No it's Super Traverse!!! to save the day Great gas 16+ per gallon at 45 the 6 gear kicks in and stop the old jack rabbit start and stop at stop lights. On eway 23 at 65 per hr. must have's dual sun roofs the front one goes into the roof not outside like others and is very quiet (no wind noise) get the FACTORY tow package(pre-wired plugs , hitch, heavy duty cooling, tow haul transmission). If you get and aftermarket towing goes down to 4,000's ? instead of the 5,600 If you can afford it get Nav cause the back up camera image is very large on it. I have camera in my reaview mirror and the image is too small for me. I still have to roll down the window and stick the old head out when backing up

I could kick myself...

I should have known better than to buy a Chevy. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Traverse - roomy, great features, drives well (turning radius not tight though). However, I've had it in the shop two times, once for a smash and grab of my built in nav system and once for an accident. Both times the shop had my car for weeks due to Chevy's inability to provide parts in a timely fashion. They may be marketing these cars, but don't count on them being able to service them as promised. Steer clear.

2009 Traverse POOR MPG

Have over 5000 miles on it now and only getting 9 t0 11 MPG city and the best on highway was 20.2 with AC off. Have it into 2 dealers and they say they can't find anything wrong. Otherwise we like it. But the millage leave a bad taste.

Great crossover

We are about 6 months into our ownership of our Traverse. It's been trouble free and fits our family well. I should note to a previous reviewer, that the spare tire and jack is a $75 option on the LS, so if their dealer is charging $700, they should try another dealer, and maybe she should have searched for a vehicle with that option. We have a 1LT package, and it's perfect for us. Seat heat and maybe remote start would be the only things I would have liked to add that I couldn't. My only complaints are very minor: I wish the trunk was larger. It fills up fast with stuff for 3 kids on vacation. This seems to be a problem with any 3 row vehicle though, but minivans seem to manage a larger cargo hold. Also, I wish the shape of the trunk opening wasn't rounded. I'm not sure why they did this other than looks, but it makes it hard to load wide items (like a projection TV) because you have to lift them over these lips in order to get it in the car. We do love the Traverse, and in lower level trim like the LT1, it doesn't feel stripped down like the Acadia did when similarly equipped.

NO SPARE TIRE OR DONUT!!! REALLY!!!!

Beware Mom's and Families!!! Shame on GM. My 2009 NEW family SUV does NOT include a SPARE TIRE or even a donut. It does not even have a place, or the hardware to attach one!!!! This is unacceptable. It really doesn't matter that ONSTAR will send help if you have a flat...AS you have NO TIRE, you will have to be towed. THAT IS, whenever the tow truck arrives, be towed to goodness only knows where, wait for a tire store to open, purchase a tire, then wait for installation!!!There goes a day or two of family vacation!! For only $700 dollars, our dealer, will add on this "luxury item." If you purchase a Traverse LS..keep in mind that you are only supposed to drive it in a city that has 24 hr towing and tire purchase options. ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO BE STRANDED WITH YOUR CHILDREN UNTIL A TIRE STORE OPENS OR A TIRE REPAIR GARAGE OPENS. THIS CAUSES MY VIEW OF THE SAFTEY OF THIS VEHICLE TO DRASTICALLY DECLINE. We are paying the $700 to upgrade. We expected so much more from our American auto company.

If you need lots of seating but not a suburban

I have been a suburban driver most of my life and LOVE THEM. My family needed a second car that could seat as many as the the Suburban and the Traverse is that car. We looked at a bunch of Crossovers and Suvs but found the Traverse to be a fantastic vehicle that is reasonably priced. It drives great is very spacious inside and I feel safe in it!!

Very nice vehicle, well built and very good driving, all around good value. My LT2 came well equipped with xm radio, onstar, rearview camera backup sensors and power liftgate. Plus I got the optional rear entertainment option.

A pleasure to drive

This car is a wondeful car to drive. I wanted something a little smaller than my minivan but still needed a 3rd row seat for trips. The 2nd row is roomy enough for 3 adults to sit without their shoulders touching! It feels roomier than my sil's Tahoe but driving wise feels about the size of my minivan. Access to the 3rd row is handy with the slide-up seat. I love the solid feel and handling of this car.

King of all Crossovers

After purchasing the 2009 Chevy Traverse a few weeks ago, I found the Traverse to be the best crossover/SUV for the money. Its ride hight is great and althought it is a big vehicle it is nimble and drives like a luxury sedan. The 3.6 liter V-6 offers plenty of power at 281 horsepower push this 4,700 pound SUV. After shopping for days and looking at what rival companies had to offer the Traverse was by far the best vehicle for my money. With leather interior, 10-speaker Bose stero, poweed tail-gate, three rows of seats (which seats 8 adult passangers), a 5 star safety rating, and 12 cup holders, this crossover is a must see. At first I was not in love with its exterior styling but after a test drive it the most impresive 7-8 passanger vehicle I have driven. For thousands of dollars less than other crossovers/SUV's it is an excellent value. Nothing but a 5 star rating from me.
