Great design but its still a chevy

The two downside to this car are as follows: Space age thinking car but stupid chevy no thought software. The tech kicks the awesome out from underneath this car, period. As I write this review I cannot bluetooth any phone to my car. No handsfree functionality when I had it yesterday. Is this reliable? Unpredictable glitches such as this undermine what you think you are buying as features. Consider this, the very functionality of this vehicle is software from the accelerator pedal to your pocket key and when it starts to go it goes. The $20K replacement battery isnt the only nightmare here. The stock tires have to go. Electric motors have great torque and spin those tires too much. speed rated are required better than H A A. Those problems are Chevy problems. Unfortunately this is the only car designed like this. The best design for a drive train on planet earth. elegant and simple. EV with a generator. How people don't see the diff between that and a hybrid and do not know. If you are someone that murders trannys this design is for you. No gears to change!

Save your Health or the Environment

Best Auto Ever -- If you're looking for a car to save the world or just your own health -- this is it! I bought my Volt in order to avoid inhaling exhaust fumes when I parked in my garage. I rarely use the gas engine. Only need gas once every two years. Now I got kudos from others for being kind to the environment. Never expected to see $6 a gallon gas. If you're looking for two cars in one, this is it. 53 Mile electric range is never an issue, I can always stop for gas if necessary.

Best electric car ever made

This is the best format for an electric car ever developed. No getting stuck somewhere without electricity. Chevrolet was totally crazy to stop making this car. Today they could sell millions.

Great intro to electric cars?

We had a little range anxiety before buying this extended range electric but with a gasoline generator you can drive at 42MPG after the 52 miles of all electric. That's the furthest of any plug in "hybrid". Fun to drive with lots of torque and a low center of gravity. Great traction in winter too.

LOVE this car

We decided to buy a small commuter car for me to drive to work downsizing from a Toyota sequoia eight seat SUV. The backseat is tight for more than two kids but manageable. What I truly love about this car is it’s actually very quick and it is a blast to drive especially in sport mode and I haven’t gotten gas in three weeks which is phenomenal considering what I was spending with my truck. When I compare what I was paying for fuel filling up three times a week at 60 bucks a pop him this car is saving me money and the car payment is less than I usually spend in gas alone so I’ve been diverting all gas that I would put into my Sequoia into my car payment so this sucker should be paid off in like two years. We want to buy a second volt for my husband now cause he drives a gas guzzler too.

Best hybrid vehicle on the road!

Before owning the Volt, I owned two Corvettes and a Camaro SS. I enjoy driving the Volt as much or more than any car I have ever owned. I am 6'3" tall, so legroom and driving ergonomics are very important to me. The Volt is perfect for me. It is fun to drive, extremely economical, and great looking. Nothing not to like!

Driving electric is a whole new experience.

Amazingly efficient. Comfortable too. This car will change your thinking about driving. It accelerates effortlessly and without any gear shifts to disturb you. I drove for two weeks (about 1,000 miles) before I put 7.5 gallons in the tank.

Does what's promised

Second generation Volt is a big leap forward than its predecessor. I love the interior styling and comfort. I wish it had a 100-mile range. Lane assist isn't reliable though.

Reliable, Comfy, and quiet

I bought my 2016 Chevy volt used about a year ago. I really love the idea of hybrid and EVs but I?m not sold on full battery yet due to charging times. I love that the Volt can do both. If you have time to charge it, great, if not just drive it on gas. The car is great solidly built. I have had Nissan, Honda and dodge cars this by far is the most solidly built car. No rattles or shakes while driving. The ride is quiet and smooth, it really makes driving pleasureable. When going long distances 42mpg is great if you can drive 65-70 if you have a lead foot you?ll be more around 32-36mpg. Overall I?ve had this car for 1 year and I?ve put 22,000 miles (32,000 total) on it. The Chevy dealer told me my brakes still look brand new. Great Car!
