Can't Beat the Nitro

Smoother ride than the Jeep Liberty, body style is one of a kind. Tough & sturdy, but with a luxurious look. Best in its class! Stereo systems sound awesome. Looks so nice with the standard "20" inch chrome wheels, low profile tires, and wide front chrome grill. Also comes standard with a 12V outlet, 1 year SIRIUS radio subscription, roof rails and water proof reversible trunk bed. Best price for a midsize SUV's

Just the right size.

I traded in my 2007 Cadillac CTS for the Nitro about three months ago. I've driven and owned many Cadillacs and sports cars over the years, and never once considered a truck. My biggest problem was always the size. Full size trucks were too big, and the cute-utes too small and weak. I feel for the Nitro based on size alone, though the styling was pleasing to me as well. Adding in a 5000 lbs towing capacity for my track car also helped. Of course, after years of owning sports and show cars, I really wanted something simple that I wouldn't have to pour hours into keeping clean and perfect. So the cheap interior is perfect for me, though I can see how others would be turned off by it. I can also see how others would be turned off by the limited off road capability when compared to other trucks. Considering I stay in the city most of the time, that didn't bother me. Of course, I've already taken the Nitro though the forest roads of northern Arizona many times since buying it. Ground clearance is fine, and I made it through a bunch of fairly deeper muddy roads without problem. I'm not saying it's a trail vehicle, but for 90% of people's needs, it will do fine.

Terrible

Nobody said that this vehicle have several issues: 1.Windshield is close to driver so entering vehicle your head meet door frame. 2.It has shortage of space for your feet-actually floor has a big bump between firs row sits and your need to keep your feet sideway which is very uncomfortable. 3.seats are very uncomfortable. 4.Rental vehicle was new and after few hundred kilometers I've got check engine light on.Assembling quality most likely is very poor.

Good ride

I've had my 2011 Nitro for about 3 months now. I had an annoying rattle in it shortly after I first got it and i thought I had a loose roof rail as I had seen this was a problem on previous models, but it turned out to be a lack of padding around where the side curtain airbag attaches inside the roof panel. Also, The clock seems to lose about 1 minute per week. Other than that, about the only other thing I would like to see improved is the gas milage. I have the 4.0 six cylinder and am getting about 16 miles per gallon. I like the styling of the vehicle and the 20 inch wheels. I also like the sound system with the satellite radio and the 10 Infinity speakers.

Solid 4x4

Good solid truck/van/suv. Does a lot for the low cost. Good performance, solid feel, great towing capacity for this size of suv. Like the 260 H.P. engine. Makes you feel like you can pull tree stumps with it. Lots of standard options. Get the 4.0, 5 speed with tow package for the extra few bucks. Wish it had the Load N Go like the older ones. That was the best thing since the invention of the wheel. A little higher ride height and a little more ground clearance would make this PERFECT !

this vehicle sucks

purchased the 2008 model RT. Its an okay vehicle, not stylish at all, frankly looks like a delivery bread truck from the 50's. This was not my choice of vehicle. Rides rough, seats are uncomfortable, when you close the windows there is o padding around them so you hear a thud when the window closes. Upon acceleration, the car sounds like its going to blow up. Road noise and engine noise are loud - the only thing I really like about the nitro is the sound system and the gps. Other than that, I'd seriously pick another vehicle. This is a real dud, and I'm stuck with it because my husband bought it as a replacement for my explorer - WHICH I TOTALLY LOVED!!!

Well designed vehicle

My family needed a smaller SUV. This fit the bill. I love the feel and handling. It's not a high power vehicle for speed, but it has that solid truck feel, great storage, and comfortable interior. We just bought one over the weekend (floor model 2011 Heat 4x2, 3.7 L engine) and we love it. The kids love it too. The dog did not voice an opinion and fell back asleep. I've gotten compliments on the aggressive Dodge design, fender flares and interior design. The gas mileage is somewhat lacking at around 17/25, but it drives wonderfully.
