A Cool Looking, Fun to Drive Car

by Phoenix Bob from Phoenix, AZ on Fri Aug 31 2012

We just bought a 2001 convertible with 9K miles in June. Had to tone down the yellow with black Viper graphics, tined windows and a black rear spoiler. The car is all stock. It is a blast to drive and my wife is very comfortable shifting the gears. The trunk will fit a few flexible duffle bags. Only complaint is that when it is over 110 outside, the air conditioner blows only cool not cold, so may need a recharge or fix a leak. The car style definitly beats any C out there. Overall, we love it and would buy another.

Best looking car I've ever owned

by Mbeigel from Vandalia, OH on Sat May 13 2017

This vehicle turns heads everywhere it goes. Very fun car to drive. The 8.0L engine will put you back in your seat very quickly with just half throttle!

Lots of power. Comfortable once you are inside. Plastic dash looks cheap. Really turns heads. Kind of beasty.

by Bobby from Tucson on Sun Jul 01 2018

Absolutely love it. Health issues forces me to sell it. Dodge only made this Sapphire Pearlesent Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. Extremely fast and reliable. A major Head Turner!

Tremendously fun vehicle!

by Moparfan from Sussex, NJ on Mon May 14 2018

The car has met and surpassed my expectations. Its design is gorgeous and mechanicals are very straight forward. This is a second vehicle but I have been driving it dfor my primary car.

Our Take on the 2001 Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper is one of the most uncomfortable cars in the world to get into or out of, much less drive, but it's still one of the most desirable vehicles on the road.

On the market since 1992, Dodge has sold about 11,000 copies.

We tested the RT/10 with its 8-liter, 450-h.p. V-10 and found age hasn't had any effect on the high-performance roadster, though age hasn't improved its 12 m.p.g. city/21 m.p.g. highway mileage rating either.

And though there are a lot more on the road now than in '92, Viper still attracts as many admiring glances now as it did then--only some of those admirers are gawking at you from behind the wheel of a Plymouth Prowler or Plymouth PT Cruiser and expect an... Read More
