Not even 3 weeks old

My car was 2 weeks and one day old, when I had to have it picked up with a tow truck and taken in. I was at my friends 2 miles from home and all the lights warnings going off, heater going on in the heat of the day, beeping you name it, was either going off or not working. Windows wouldn't work back hatch would work, no air just heat!! Of course, the car dealership said it probably was a computer cliche and would be fixed most likely in an hour. Now I'm out 3 days and they said it would be fixed this morning. That it was something with the electronics on the hatch batch. IT's 3:00 and I would say it is more than they figured! I'm so mad! I haven't gotten a new vehicle in 10 years now I wish I hadn't of!

Great new hybrid

Still breaking in the CMAX, but already getting over 42 mpg. Car is very well designed and put together. Exceptional visibility with plenty of room in both front seat and back. Handling is very good. Power is more than adequate. Tthree LCD screens provide information and feedback on the driver's performance as well as the car's performance.

Loving my C-Max

1250 miles on my C-Max SEL (not Energi) and I just filled up the second time, so that works out to 600+ per tank. So far love it. Driving mixed between city & highway.

Ford C MAX driver for one week in San Francisco,CA

I just spent a week in a rented Ford C Max SEL and was very impressed. I have been a Toyota owner for as long as I could drive but I have to say that the Ford C MAX SEL is better than the current Prius. The acceleration and road handling are exceptional. The Ford C MAX has alot of smooth low end power that I really needed driving up and down the hils and twisty roads in and arround the bay area. The black leather like interior styling is very tasteful and almost a sporty. The seats were incredibly comfortable for the long trips and power options are really great. I espeically liked the SEL model that has the glass sunroof and the ability to chaging interior lighting to fun colors. My favorite feature about the Ford C MAX is the that the interior is taller inside than the current Prius and the back seats fold down flat. This worked out well when I changing clothes after hiking, camping and surfing. The mileage was really good considering the variety of driving conditions. I probably put about 600 miles on it just one week driving thru the city, the forest, and along to coast. My average mileage was about 42 mpg. There is only one thing that I can;t stand about the new Ford C MAX and must change before I would consider purchasing one. I can't stand the cheap Sony stereo command console thing. Message to Ford "A simple and normal stereo layout is better". The ridiculous joy stick stereo volume control knob thing is terrible. In summary, the car is great, the seats are great, performance is great, it's a fun car to drive, but the stereo contols suck. If Ford just used the stereo setup from the Mustang I would absolutley buy a new 2014 Ford C MAX SEL.

Ford Fixing MPG Issue Killed Performance

We enjoyed the peppiness, quiet ride and 42 MPG we were getting from out 2013 C Max until we took it in for a recall that was supposed to "improve gas mileage". Before, the recall it responded the instant you touched the gas peddle and city or highway, you would never know the engine was on. Now getting on the highway is a life and death decision. You can literally count to 4 between the time you push the gas and the time the engine responds. Hold your foot all the way to the floor long enough and you can get all the way up to 75 miles per hour, but that's top speed. Irony is that the "software upgrade" Two Rivers Ford did as part of the "recall" was supposed to change the top speed for the electric engine from 62 to 85 MPH. Not only does Two Rivers Ford service say there's nothing they can do about what they've done to our cars performance, but the 32 (three zero) MPG we're getting now is normal. So before August 2013, I would have said the C-Max is a great car. Now... I've been in a rickshaw with more pickup.

Mileage is good, hybrids must be driven different

I have had this car for three weeks and am enjoying it. As a former Insight owner, I bought the hybrid because it was the best rated mpg. Many complain it doesnt come close but I am averaging 52 mpg this tankful. The regen from braking is better than on the insight. New technology is fine and I love the sound system.

C Max Amazing

I really like this car! My previous vehicle was a Wrangler that I put 183K miles on--this is a 100% different driving experience. After 1500 miles, my gas mileage at 46.3 MPG, is >125% better than my beloved Wrangler. If you are willing to accelerate slowly and brake slowly and to add 1/5 to your time to get somewhere in town, this is a very achievable mileage; if you are impatient and lead-footed, then it's a great car but your MPG will be lower. Firmware to achieve EV mode up to 85mph max (instead of originally supplied 62mph) will be installed for free by Ford in my car later this month. Outstanding build quality; my 89 yr. old father cannot get over what a terrific value this was (or the look of things under the hood); initial experience: very positive.

Surprised That I'm Back With A Ford!

I left American cars behind when I bought an Audi A6. I loved it, but the repair costs after the warranty ended drove me out of it. I switched to Nissan and was "okay" with both the Murano and the Altima, but never impressed. I wanted a hybrid and my 6'3" husband wanted headroom. He avoided driving the Audi and both Nissans -- he wants to drive my little C-Max. I have 10K on it now and I get around 43 MPG. Not exactly as they promised, but pretty darned close. I love driving this car. The acceleration is great. The interior is comfortable for everyone. We drive in city rush hour traffic five days a week and make the two-hour trip back and forth to the cabin every weekend. The C-Max is great for both highway and city. Oh - and I hit a deer last month breaking from 50MPH on a county road. It took out the front bumper and fender, leaving body damage, but no permanent structural damage. My little Max handles just as it always had. I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off!

I love this car

I have owned Nissans for years and would have stayed with them except I couldn't find a model that would give me the gas mileage I wanted. My husband watched for low mileage cars in Consumer Reports and was pleased to see that an American made car could give us what we wanted. We no longer needed an import. The Ford C-Max SEL is surprisingly roomy, looks beautiful and drives like a dream. I could not believe that I could convert from a van to a compact. But it looks like a tiny SUV. And the hybrid technology is quiet and fun. Super car.

Having fun with the CMax

We are enjoying the CMax. Have only had it for a month but so far we like it a lot. For one thing, it is very comfortable. It rides really nice and has plenty of power when you need it. And I love the lift gate. It's our first hybrid and we find it sort of like a video game. By that I mean there are at least 3 ways it gives feedback about how well you are doing with gas milage. It is interesting to see how well you do on each trip. You really do drive a hybrid differently - - that is, if you are interested in milage. Other features we like are the phone sync and radio that can all be done hands-free or just from the steering wheel. So far it's a great car. Can't really speak on reliability yet. Hopefully we will have a great review on that later.
