Solid family beast

This truck has been great . I have a plow on mine and when it’s not plowing , my wife uses it to cart around the kids . A nice back up vehicle that can tow more than a 2016 Silverado 😵‍💫. Very solid ride . You can go through a cornfield without getting stuck easily . Just put brand new Goodyear wrangler tires and all new rims because mine were starting to pit and let air out .

Solid Drivetrain

You will definitely have to replace the intake manifold, air suspension bags, fuel pump and if you have a 4x4, front hubs (easy job) at some point after 150k miles. I have a 02 5.4 Eddie 4x4 and I do my own work. Intake is an expensive job when a shop does it. I Gutted the air suspension and use a Monroe coil kit (not hard or expensive)Worked great. These vehicles have VERY solid drive trains so in my case well worth it. Parts are not that expensive but labor is so it might not be worth it for some.

This has been a very reliable and comfortable car

It is one of the most comfortable and dependable cars I have every owned. It is a beast and a great work car for the person who makes regular trips to Lowe's and Home Depot. Lot's of room for up to 8 people who can all ride in comfort. It has been garage kept and maticulously maintained for 19 years in Texas.

Most reliable car I’ve owned. I loved it.

It runs nice. Gets you from A to B with no problems. It has a lot of space. It’s very clean. This car was my favorite. It fits a large family. Nice interior color.

Loved it until it died

I've had the chance to own not one but two of these trucks. Both of which ended up dying in spectacular fashion - one the engine blew the main seal - and blew all it oil out the tailpipe and bottom of the engine and the other the transmission fluid cooling line blew and sprayed fluid onto the battery where it caught fire and caused the whole engine compartment to go up in flames, killing the engine entirely. Now that is just due to the fact that the owner before me killed the truck with not performing the proper maintainence on it.. If you are considering one, I would suggest getting one as there are indeed a lot of them on the road and they are really good vehicles. So if you get the chance to pick one up do it. But check for rust on the Core Support and for rust on the rocker panels.

Old school now but Awesome ride!

This is the last model year of the first gen Ford Expedition. Phenomenal ride and love the true truck height visibility. King of the Road and actually decent on gas. I avg 17-18 on the highway. Seats are extremely comfortable and a lot of thought put into the interior layout.

Been a great car low maintenance

A lot of car for the money. This thing is huge holds 8 people comfortably and still gets decent mpg. The market price does not do this vehicle justice.

Smoothest driving vehicle I've ever owned

Best Expedition year. Smooth ride, great engine!! Obviously with an older vehicle there will eventually be issues that need addressed. But, If kept up on and maintained regularly, it will run for many more years!!
