  • Never had a better rig.

I bought my 96 F-250 4x4 short bed super cab used with 113,000 miles from a rural family 28 miles out of town. A friend took me there and when I laid eyes on it I told my friend to go on back to town cuz I was buyin that truck. This was before I even met the seller. Since then I’ve driven that truck another 83000 miles including 2 trips up and down the ALCAN highway from Oregon to Fairbanks Alaska and back, both ways towing 4 tons of tools and equipment. That truck has never let me down, and never hinted that it would. Most comfortable vehicle for travel I’ve ever had, or been in for that matter. I’ll keep this old truck and will it to my granddaughter because she loves it, and I have no doubt it will outlive me.

  • Most Reliable Beast of a Truck

I have owned mine 13 years and it has almost never needed anything but routine maintenance. It is powerful, fuel-efficient and well built. I have had many guys stop me to ask if I wanted to sell it because the 7.3L Power Max is such a stellar engine.

  • Absolute work horse!

I've been more than impressed by this truck. It has served me well on the farm and on the road. If something breaks the 7.3 is so easy to repair with lots of hood space. 5 stars.

  • F250 OBS with 7.3 power stroke

Best truck I have ever owned. Great body style, Powerful, dependable, long lasting and gets decent fuel economy too. The 7.3 power stroke is the best engine ever put in a pick up truck.

  • wins my toughest truck of the year award

This was my 2nd 3/4 ton truck I've owned and let me tell yeah I wish I never got rid of her it had the biggest block available 7.5L aka 460 backed by an automatic transmission that never gave me the thought of a problem 4x4 was 100% I got her with just over 105 k on her and traded it in with about 135 k and never gave me one single problem. My previous truck was a 2000 chevy k2500 and i nearly tipped it on a gravel road. both pasanger tires came up off the ground but gravity was on my side and landed on all 4 wheels but in the process broke the pitman arm and the lower control arm which tells me that chevys front ends are weak and it also shows on paper too the f250 has a higher g.a.w rating the only thing I liked about the chevy besides the mpg of a 350 vs a 460 was the smoother ride but I know the ford would have not been harmed in a similar incident that the chevy was in. Only reason why I got rid of it was the mpg when gas was at its peak

  • Last truck I'll probably own.

I bought mine new.It only has 58,000 miles on it. Gets great fuel milage. Drives fairly well. Looks great. I get compliments on it regularly. Even offers to buy. Its shortcomings is...its a 4 wd drive and didn't come with locking diffs. You can get it stuck in your yard. The front autolocking hubs had plastic gears and stripped the first instant I used it as a 4wd. I replaced them with Warn manual hubs. Another thing...it didn't come with either front or rear sway bars which would drastically improve its handling. But I love my old truck.

  • 2 or 4

Not to cause a problem or anything but the description says 2 wheel drive but after veiwing the photos of this wonderful beast. You will notice that the front axle appears to have a differential on it which means really it would have to be all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. Hey, Im just saying.

  • Best truck I've ever owned

This truck is built to last, just like Ford says, Ford Tough. It's comfortable on longs trips and pulls our 25ft travel trailer with ease. Never had a major problem with this truck. It's going on 112,000 miles and just keeps on going! Owned since bought new 1996. I would recommed this truck to anyone who needs a good truck to do the job,any job.

  • This truck will never quit on you.

Truck should last you as long you want it to last. Great power from the turbo diesel. These trucks are just built to tough. You couldn't kill these trucks if you tried. Also ''the cargo light leaves off a romantic glow.''

  • Excellent Fuel Economy / Reliablity in a HD Pickup

The 96 Ford F250 HD Super Cab Long Bed is an excellent vehicle for personal use, as well as towing and hauling. THe truck tows up to 12,000 lbs, and has a bed capacity of 2000 lbs. This truck runs and drives great, handles well for a vehicle this size. Fuel economy is 21+ MPG hiway, and 17-18 around town. An excellent value for the dollar, as any parts items are low cost based on number of Ford Powerstroke trucks in service.
