Best car I've ever owned

The Flex Limited we purchased is great. Great looks (we got the 20" wheels), cavernous, rich interior, tech-appropriate with Sync (voice control of phone and iPod) -it's the coolest ride out there for families. It is a big vehicle, but its got enough power to get her up and going and the handling is surprising given its size. But, this ride is more about cruising in comfort for 6 -- and a really luxurious space for 4 adults. Ford hit it out of the park with this one!

Love our Flex!

We purchased a Flex in January, and it is absolutely the best car we have ever owned! Advertised gas mileage is right on target and the Sync system is wonderful. We basically chose the Flex because of its interior. It was by far the roomiest crossover we looked at. I guess its exterior causes people to take notice because at least once a week, someone stops to ask us about our car - never had that happen before. We are looking forward to driving this vehicle for many years to come!

Flex is Best

Having owned a 2009 Flex Limited for 6 months now, my wife and I absolutely love this car! On the highway, this car floats along and we find ourselves wanting to take road trips anywhere just to enjoy the scenery through panoramic windows and the huge sun roof. Our grandkids love sitting in the 3rd row with their own sun roof and you can see them looking up at the stars during night driving. The exterior gets us comments from the kids working at fast food places. "What's that? Looks like 2 mini Coopers!" Seriously, several of them will gather at the drive through window and gawk. Pretty cool for a grandparent. I have owned a lot of cars and this one beats them all for quality, ride and fun!

Not the car for you if you have a family!!!!!!!

Well I'm a mom of 4. I just thought I had to get this car. Well we purchased it and by the 2 month I was ready to get something else. I thought that the auto folding seats was cool, well if you have to use it alot then plan on take it in to the shop. Mine haves gotten stuck more then I can count. The trim work all over mostly in the driver area just breaks off. So they can not really say it bc of my kids not that they have. There is just not as much as room as I thought. Over all I HATE THIS CAR. And I love ford. I have 2 other in the drive way. Well, I can say that I have had it total of 4 months and I currently look for something else. Good luck if you choose this one!

Had to have one...

I was looking for a vehicle that would fit all my needs...stylish, not plain, plenty of room for carrying passengers as well as cargo, performance and decent gas mileage. Ford did a great job with the Flex but before I bought one I had no idea how much of a luxury vehicle they were. I bought an 2009 SEL with everything except syn and navigation (wish I would have bought sync). The vista roof is great for passengers and the seating is comfortable. It is roomy enough for hauling students around to events as well as for my family on long trips. Gas mileage is alright with an average of 20 in city and 24 on highway but honestly it should be higher I think. There is plenty of power under the hood to make the Flex get up and go when needed but using it really effects your gas mileage. Handling could be a little better but it is adequate for daily driving. The flex is a heavy vehicle and you will feel it in the turns but it is not top heavy at all so that is a bonus. Since I bought mine all my friends have rode in it and love it. One even ran out and bought one for himself. They are great and I am very satisified with the Flex overall. Good job Ford!

Spacious

I have had Ford Exployers and F-150's for the past 20 years. Drove the Flex on a short trip (620 miles) 3 weeks ago and averaged 26.7 MPG. Getting 22.3 in city driving. Very comfortable front seats. Amazed at the amount of room in this vehicle when the seats are folded down. Even with the seats up, there is a lot of usable space. Class III tow package lets me carry the items in a trailer that I used to carry in a truck, and yet have a vehicle that can carry 7 people. Great with the grandkids. Highly recommended.

Flex is fun...

Drives well... the family fits... my wife uses a walker and that fits well in the trunk. the kids love the rear seat legroom and vista roof... Felt like we'd never seen the Golden Gate bridge when we drive over it in the Flex the first time, The kids were oohing and ahhing as they looked up the giant towers through their personal vista roof ports. Drove it to LA and got 24mpg on highway until the incline up the grapevine... averaged 18mpg over the trip. Not bad... would have liked better.... EcoBoost coming in 2010. Fun Car... gets lots of looks. nicely styled interior... Sync feature works well for my phone... keep it in my pocket and dial from the dash. So far so good.

SUV to a Flex

I have owned 2 Explorers and an Expedition and the Flex has as much interior room as an Explorer and rides much smoother (on a Taurus frame). I have been pleased so far. I wish there was more lumbar support, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Ford Flex is the Real Deal

I haven't owned a North American built car since I inherited a 1972 Chevy Nova when I first got my license. The Ford Flex changed that for me. I've always had Toyotas and Hondas, and once I had kids a minivan. Nice reliable cars, but I missed having something with a bit of character. Soon after I started thinking about buying a new vehicle I saw a picture of the then new Flex but no one had one to drive. When I finally saw it, it was an epiphany. Here was a 'van' sized vehicle that looked nothing like a van and the styling I wanted. But I was floored when I started noticing the quality in this vehicle. This was no Ford that I remembered, it was well built and made with good materials. My test drive was a huge success that changed the mind of my skeptical wife who said Fords were (I'll say junk). I'm in my second month and I LOVE it, and I'm not the kind of guy that usually loves cars. And the styling is obviously a hit with other people too, because I have people stopping me all the time to ask what the vehicle is and how I like it. Good job Ford. My recommendation is try the Flex. I think you may be happy you did.
