I love driving this car!

This car was awesome to modify for performance and handling- I did it all myself and the result was outstanding! It accelerates like a beast and corners like a go cart. Lots of fun and reliable too!

I have 234k miles and am the original owner.

This vehicle is awesome, I have only replaced the idler pulley, the alternator, the serpentine belt, the blower fan x 2, and tires. Nothing major. All things replaced were less than $2k. Maintain with oil changes and new spark plugs. The tires are a must, they begin to rattle in the front if they are too old. If Ford is reading this, they can buy my car and give me a new focus. lol.

Best Ford Focus I have owned

Having owned five of the 2000-2007 Ford Focus' this has been the best one so far. It is a wagon and only had 19.5k miles on it when purchased in Sept. 2018 . It drives better than a 2007 Focus I had in 2017 with only 11k miles on it. I have had Focus' from 2000-2007 All with the 2.0 engine, S or SE model. This car is equipped with traction control which is an added plus while driving in winter. I like the earlier styling of this model, large trunk, and comfortable interior seating. I have driven the SES models with larger engine and leather with heated seats and manual transmission; just never found one to my liking. I only wish Ford had made better engine -transmission mounts as excessive engine vibration can be an annoyance. I have had them changed out on several of my Focus'. Th car has proven safe in an accident, ie deer strike. All passive restraint and air bags worked as designed. As you can tell I am a 2000-2007 Ford Focus aficionado.

Not bad for a Ford

I bought my '06 Focus ZX4 in late August 2018, with around 217K miles. Obviously, it had already been around the block a few times. It was far from my first choice, especially with that kind of mileage, but it was an emergency. The mileage is all highway (supposedly), they tell me the lady who traded it in lives about 40 miles away and commutes to the city and back every day. But that's not the point. It's now late January 2019, I'm just a few miles short of 220K, I've gone on a couple longer road trips, and I've been out of state once with it, and I've had no issues with it. The cabin vibration is a little excessive at times, mainly after it's been running a while, there's an unidentifiable squeak when I hit a bump, the aftermarket cruise is intermittent at best, and it suffers from a stuck blend door actuator (in layman's terms, the vent is stuck in the forward position), but aside from those few annoyances, it runs great. Even for a little 2.0L 4-banger, this thing has some serious get-up-and-go. It's perfect for city driving and decent for highway travel. This thing's been put through the wringer and still runs strong. Maintenance? So far, I've needed none. But when the inevitable does happen, parts are abundant and cheap (Focuses turn up in salvage yards all the time), and just about anyone can work on them. On the other hand, I've found the interior to be somewhat uncomfortable and somewhat cheap-feeling. It's a little cramped as well, even with the seat all the way back (I'm a good 6'4"), the cup holders are very awkwardly placed are very difficult to reach while driving. In addition to the awkward placement of the cup holders, they are also very awkwardly sized. I've found that cans and narrow bottles (like water bottles) will slide or flip out of the holder entirely while taking corners, and larger drinks (think a gas station 44oz) are too tall to fit comfortably, but it will work if you don't mind the cup in your leg, and if you're very careful moving moving your legs in the cramped quarters. The center console is far too shallow to fit all the junk I usually keep in my car consoles. The steering wheel (at least on mine) sheds black dust horribly, but it easily fixable with a cover and a vacuum. Despite my gripes about things that don't matter, my 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 SE is a darn good car, even for a 220K mile Ford. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.

Loud but Faithful

I bought this because a friend of mine has one just like it. At first I thought his was in poor condition but it ran great so I bought this one for my daughter. We have only had to do basic maintenance in the 2.5 years that we've owned. They're loud, but never let you down.

First used car I’ve owned

Great car for us to have as we will only use it for 4 months while we spend the winter in Florida. Has extras such as cruise control and keyless entry and we got 2 sets of keys with fibs!

Best used car I have owned

I like it very much. It is meeting and exceeding all expectations. I needed a second car and didn't want to spend a lot. I had always heard good things about the Ford Focus. I am glad I went for this one. It is a nice size, lots of room, huge trunk and all the safety features.

Best Hatchback Ever

Very reliable, yet stylish car. My wife and I have had the car for over 10 years and have never had any problems. Very comfortable - and I would know, I drove it from Denver to Seattle in 2 days.
