Close to German feel!
Was always on edge about buying an expensive luxury car until the genesis caught my eye. German like feel with less trips to the mechanic shops.

Poor assembly, creaks and rattles.
I got a G70 3.3T AWD back in October 2019, and it has been in the shop on average of twice a month since then, sometimes several times during the same day. Creaks, squeaks, rattles, and pops developed all over the interior by 3,000 miles. The sunroof and headliner rattle and pop non stop, and I had a severe steering column issue. The dealer fixed the steering issue, after 6 visits, but no dealer so far wants to touch the noises or the sunroof. “Can not duplicate” or “This is normal” is all I ever get. It’s very apparent now why this car is so much cheaper than a comparable BMW, Mercedes or Lexus...it was put together very, very badly. I have never driven a worse put together car, and that includes old rusted out Corollas, which still sounded rock solid over bumps, unlike the G70.

Best car I ever owned
Great styling and I get a lot of looks and compliments. The interior is gorgeous and very comfortable. The performance is exceptional, it gets up and goes and the safety features are the best.

More Fun and More Comfortable than an Audi S5
I currently own a 2016 VW GTI. I test drove the 3.3TT Sport last summer and was surprised by the power; the torque shove was extremely fun! The fit and finish was good as well, and the front seats were very comfortable. The infotainment was slightly better than what I am used to in my GTI, though lagging behind the all-digital displays done by Mercedes and Audi. However, since I almost exclusively use Apple Carplay, it's not much of an issue for me. After test driving this car, I went to an Audi dealership and test drove an S5 Sportback. It was nice, but the torque shove was nowhere near as aggressive as the G70, and the ride (though sporty) was a bit too harsh for my liking. The few things that I preferred on the S5 over the G70 was the engine and exhaust note (which was a bit underwhelming on the G70), the impressive launch control (which the sales manager did while I was in the passenger seat), the transmission (though to be fair, the G70 trans was pretty darn close and more than good enough), and the feel of the knobs and plastics. However, after taking both on a back road, I felt like the G70 was more engaging, as the power felt more usable (again, that torque shove was simply intoxicating), all while delivering a more comfortable ride when I wanted to calm down. Ultimately, I really wanted to like the S5 more than I did, and I ended up liking the G70 more than I expected I would. Then there's the issue of cost: the G70 I drove was $51k. The S5 was $67k. I'm planning to lease a G70 this summer.

Bought new so NA reliability, Great warranty.
Only test drove because of lease deal and wanted to move up from my 2016 Civic, also a COY. Way more car than I'd guessed, near equivalent to BMW M3XI AWD for $17K discount. on the sticker, more on the deal. The service at the Hyundai dealer has started off a little iffy on the scale of luxury car standards but probably average for the Hyundai label. Much better car than previous Mercedes and Audi's I've had both in terms of handling, performance and electronics though the latter is due mostly to the new stuff available now that wasn't on my older models. School's out on Napleton Hyundai's service. The loaner program is near useless so far. It's like no one is in charge overall for the Genesis line. Promises made casually, and kept more casually. My independent guy at Ogden Motors is in a way better class.

The Real Deal
This car is an excellent cars and in some ways better than my previously owned S Class. However, I did some modifications as I didn't like how high it sat. Anyway the car is a beast with a stellar maintenance plan and warranty.

Great car
This car is fun and comfortable. Suits my needs and very attractive. I am still learning all the features but the ones that I appreciate are the Apple CarPlay.

So much better than my BMW and other German cars
This is a far better car than any of the German cars I've owned (besides purist track cars like my Porsche). People are saying the much more expensive 2020 M340i slightly edges it out, but I'm getting better acceleration and 1/4 mile times (not getting into road courses with my daily yet) than what the magazines are stating. I'm dynoing far above the advertised Torque at the wheel - by almost 50 lbs of Torque. I don't know if I got a ringer, but other folks are getting the same. I'm getting 0-60 in 4.3-4.4 without launch control - which is faster. I'm also running 12.4-5 in the 1/4 without launch control and shifting early around 5300 rpm. This is the 3.3T. The 3.5T comes out in a year and I'm thinking about upgrading. It has adaptive dampners and handles much better than the Kia Stinger GT2 with better suspension set up and lighter than the GT2 Stinger. The only downside would be the back seat is a bit cramped (quilted Napa leather is nice - no cheap plastics in this car) and it doesn't offer a manual in the 3.3T engine option. This is the first non-3 pedal car I've owned for myself in over 20 years. I would have paid more for a manual no matter how great the auto is - and it is. The car is all around better tuned and nicer than the GT2 Stinger. The GT2 Stinger is roomier and more of a GT for the family. I gave that up for the better tuned engine and suspension in the G70 3.3T Sport/Elite/Prestige. My only complaint is lack of forward adjustable headrest like is in other Genesis models and in the overseas version. The sounds system is the best I've ever had and blows my top of the line BMW sound system out of the water. The build quality and interior quality is far better than my previous 3 series vehicles.

Great Car.
Enjoying my new car. Great performance and very stylish. The price was amazing. For better value then the BMW 340, Lexus IS and Audi A4 I was looking at.

Great car, but first year issues.
This car is amazing, and an incredible value for the money. On the road it is smooth, and much quieter than some of my previous cars, like the 2014 Mazda 3 and an older Toyota Corolla. However, it is not nearly as quiet as the Genesis G80 or Chrysler 300 that I’ve rented and driven. For example, my Genesis G70 3.3T AWD with Elite package does NOT come with an acoustic windshield or acoustic side glass. As a result, anything past 65 mph on the highway gets loud, fast. On crappy Chicago pavement the ride is firm, but not crashy, just right for me. However the car does quickly reveal random buzzes and rattles, which is concerning in a car in this price range. Most Toyota and Lexus cars, and even the Genesis G80 had no interior rattles on the same streets. The best part about this car is the 3.3 liter engine, and the handling. The car can be violently fast when you want it to be, and the steering feels “on rails”, especially when taking on or exit ramps at high speeds. The engine makes an OK sound, but even with the audio pumped into the cabin, it doesn’t sound aggressive enough. Definitely better than any 4 cylinder sound, though. Quality is proving to be a bit of a concern. The dealer has to fix a B pillar panel that is coming unglued on the outside driver’s door of the car...and it’s only 3 weeks old. In addition, the air conditioning system developed some strange noises. The dealer will be taking a look at that as well. Finally, Genesis Connected Services did not work for two weeks because the car’s modem would not recognize the USIM card. That was eventually resolved. It may be worth waiting a year or two for production issues to get worked out.
