I wouldn't buy it
I rented a terrain for a week for a 2200 mile road trip. The drivers seat is short, after a few hours on the road my right leg hurt enough that we had to stop so I could walk it off. I never had to do that before. The acceleration is slow and theres a lot of engine drone when getting on the highway. It feels like the transmission is hunting for the right gear after getting on the highway. The engine feels like its underpowered and plowing most of the time. The brakes have a good bite to them. The auto off feature should have a disable switch. Gas mileage was very good, I averaged 26.5 mpg on the highway. It was roomy enough for 4 adults, one of our passengers who is 6'2 fit behind the drivers seat comfortably and I'm 6'1. The ride is noisy on the highway although it is relatively smooth. The finish on the doors is cheap and flimsy. The a/c works real well. Too many buttons for the a/c and the sound system lacks power and quality sound. The plastic trim in the cargo area is thin and scratches easily. It will look terrible after a couple of years of regular use. The rear bumper cover scuffs easily, so it will most likely need a repaint after 2-3 years. It's a nice car to rent but for the money there are better choices if you're looking to buy. I wouldn't buy the Terrain or Equinox.

Dangerous design
I was driving my Terrain in 70 mph rush traffic and GMC new Start stop gas saving transmission feature switch decided to malfunction. It turned the car off. Luckily there was space between me a the car following me. It turned back on but shut off again as I was making my way to the side of the highway. The only thing I can say I’m very lucky I was on a outside lane when it happened and rush hour was light that day.

Worst car I've ever owned
I agree with jmechanic from miami fl about his review. This car looks nice from the outside but i have nothing else than problems after problems since i bought it. It's a piece of junk for me and I do not trust those mechanic at the dealer. I stop taking the car there, they just want to charge for everything. I believe that car was sold to me with many problems and they know it. Gm continue to make more cars like this and get more rich and it's just making poor quality car. It's a nightmare this car. Only 57,000 miles now.

Great for long trips.
Took this vehicle on a long trip, very comfortable and nice smooth ride. Have had problems with the back seat rubber molding (on both sides) and outside trim. All three were fixed for free by the dealer.

GMC TERRAIN All that and more!
This SUV gives you a lot of bang for the buck. It looks tough on the outside, and sleek and rich on the inside. Ride is smooth. Lots of features. Absolutely love it.

Absolutely do not like the auto/stop feature.
Auto stop feature needs to be disabled. My car rolled backwards when accelerated from a stop. Does not give a smooth start up. Passengers think that my car stalls all the time. Will this also have me purchase numerous starters?

Pre owned vehicle.
I’ve had the vehicle for a week and so far, so good. Haven’t had it in a long trip yet, but am looking forward to see how it handles on the open road.

Exactly what I wanted
Overall the SUV is fantastic. The only issue i have with the CMS TERRAIN SLE is the rear backup camera, is the I call them the DIRECTIONAL LINES ARE VERY FAINT IN RED, ORANGE & YELLOW I can hardly see them when I'm backing up. GMC only gave me a $$$$ to get it fixed & 90 days to do it in. Husband bought a replacement camera and it is the EXACT SAME CAMERA . The backup camera in the CHEVY EQUNIOX 2019 IS MUCH BETTER & BRITTER 😢

Great GM car.
We just took a road trip in the car and it was comfortable, smooth riding, and quiet. Plenty of power for the hills and passing. (By the way, it’s the diesel version, so it got great mileage)
