Best luxury SUV

by Denali Fanatic from La Habra, CA on Thu Oct 19 2006

This car is one of the best luxury suvs of its time. It is really smooth, has plenty of power for an suv, and is just the best car ever. Also has lots of room for audio and video competitions, IE subwoofers, tvs, nav system, etc...

Very reliable; a pleasure when moving people & gear; very comfortable, quiet ride. 2nd row buckets recommended if 3rd row used often.

GMC Lemon XL

by Tom from Charlotte, NC on Sun Nov 10 2013

Purchased this vehicle new. Nothing but problems from day 1. Almost everytime it goes in for a simple oil change, it comes out having cost me $800. This vehicle was maintenanced to the letter, but I've had to replace a ton of parts in it. Very dissapointed with this SUV.

NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS

by TRAVIS from SAN DIEGO on Sun Nov 11 2007

Hello, My Yukon XL has arroundd 80,000 miles and its a 2001. We are currently ready to get read of it and looking into a new car. OTher than the comfort and large interior this car is terrible. Ive never had something that would stall on me everytime the car stops and sometimes lock up in the middle of a turn, risking my life. I call it "a caskit on wheels". DONT BUY IT!

WAS GREAT

by mgh45 from Scottsdale, AZ on Tue Jul 24 2018

Vehicle now stalls at 60-70 mph-major problem on Interstate highways. No one seems to know what causes it. I've spent upwards of $3,000 trying to fix the problem-no luck yet.

Reliable and trustworth for the cost.

by teacher3 from North Ogden, Utah on Sun Oct 22 2017

This a great vehicle for a larger family, or anyone that wants extra room and not have to pay a lot of money for it. The leather is in very good condition, as it was replaced a few years ago. 4wd is a great feature to have, especially in a cold winter state. Overall, if you are wanting a nice vehicle, that is reliable as well as powerful, and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the vehicle you may be interested in.

Best Vehicle Ever Made!!

by hjbax from Glennville, GA on Sun Jul 02 2017

Awesome room, exceptional handling, it got 22MPG due to the 373 rear end set up! Kids nicknamed it the school bus! After 14 years, we retired it, but it was the best vehicle ever made!!

Our Take on the 2001 GMC Yukon XL

If you're like me, you probably find it difficult to associate the notion of agility with something weighing well over 2 tons, but that's exactly what GMC is pushing here.

GMC's marketing troops insist that the Yukon XL Denali -- curb weight 5,850 pounds -- possesses "unsurpassed agility."

When I first heard this pitch, delivered just before I climbed aboard for a day of back-road driving near this southern California seaside city, you can imagine the reaction -- a barely-suppressed snort of derision.

Agile? Yeah, right. Agile like a bulldozer. Nimble, like an elephant. Who do these guys think they're kidding?

Turns out that GMC's suggestion, so absurd in the abstract, makes a certain amount of... Read More
