Extremely good car for 16th birthday

Received this for my birthday 4 months ago. All I can say is that I've loved it from the day I got it. The only thing I've done to it so far was install the oem low rise spoiler and had the battery changed. Other than that, I had to take in twice because it wouldn't start a few times but after a couple cranks it fired. Was told by the mechanic that it might be because my key ring was too heavy and since then it's started every time. Be aware of the transmissions on the 6th gens, as they are prone to tranny problems. Hope to keep this car after college and I only have 105k on the clock. She'll keep going, I know that.

Good car but ...

I purchased this car 3 months ago and the transmission slips very easily, engine light is already on and takes a while to warm up. Overall this is still a very good car with comfort and good gas mileage but I would NOT reccomended buying it if it has +130,000.

Great car for my daughter for school.

Honda is one of my favorite cars. This car is perfect for my daughter who is graduating from high school in May of 2013. This car will allow her to have reliable transportation to college.

Keeps on going

Owned my 2001 Accord now for 11 years with 170,000 miles. Only had to replace tires, brakes, battery and timing belt. Just keeps on rolling, totally reliable and has gotten me to the office in heavy rain, ice and snow due to the almost optimal power to weight ratio and front wheel drive. I have had 2 other Accords and the transmission usually goes out around 180,000, but this 2001 is showing no sign of transmission issues.

Honda Dependability

My Honda 2001 Accord just keeps going and going and going and going. But interior wise it is falling apart. The motor on the automatic window control on the drivers side both front and back has died. I cant get the light for the clock to come on even after changing the fuse. Upholtery needs to be redone completely. Other than all this...the car runs fine.

Been driving mine for 11 years+ 135k miles

I bought my EXV6 Accord December 2000, been driving it ever since, my air conditioning went out a few years ago, the freon leaked out, my radiator rusted at the bottom seal, near the hose (Michigan salt) last December and noticed my A/C fan was rusted too. Pulled the compressor fan out and replaced the radiator on Christmas eve, cost was $130 bucks for everything and then drove to Florida. I ordered a new fan yesterday and will repair my A/C when it comes in..cost will be about $100 bucks for everything. The only thing other than this, is I replaced my brakes a few times, I like good brakes and replace them every 40k to 45k miles...cost was $160 for everything (rotors and pads). And the timing belt at 100k.. cost was $400..Honda parts are expensive. I replaced my tranny fluid a few times and of course oil and filters and spark plugs once at 100k. One alignment and two tire changes over the last 11 years.. $ 850 for that. That is about it. You can add it up. My gas mileage ranges between 24-32 mpg. I will keep this car for another 10 years (lol). Good car. Besides my 84 Prelude this was the most reliable one that I have ever had. Have fun.

Gas Mileage of a Truck

Warning: This car gets terrible gas mileage. You may think buying a Honda, you would get good gas mileage right? Not on this model. On a good day, driving all highway the best I get is 19. City driving is a whole other ordeal. And yes I get my oil changed frequently. (so it is not my fault- it is the car!) Just be prepared to fill this sucker up FREQUENTLY. Gas guzzler!!!!

HONDA ACCORD

THIS VEHICLE RODE LIKE A KIDS GO CART. THE CAR WAS UNDERPOWERED, AND WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ON LONG TRIPS, I AM ONLY 6 FEET AND 200 LBS . WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR I WAS CRAMPED OVER. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A JAPANESE AUTO AGAIN THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED..
