What Is the 2024 Honda CR-V?

The Honda CR-V is a five-seat compact SUV with a choice of two fuel-conscious engines and front- or all-wheel drive. The base engine is a 190-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, while an available hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors, good for a total of 204 hp. Both engines are paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The CR-V competes with a wide range of rivals, including the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan

What’s New on the 2024 Honda CR-V?

The CR-V is little changed after its redesign for the 2023 model year. The hybrid lineup gains a new Sport-L trim level that slots between the Sport and Sport Touring in terms of price and equipment level.

What Features in the 2024 Honda CR-V Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 7-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Four-speaker stereo system
  • One USB port
  • Automatic climate control
  • Push-button start
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Rear-seat reminder
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Lane departure steering assist
  • Lane departure warning

Available features include:

  • 9-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Satellite radio
  • Eight-speaker stereo system
  • Navigation
  • Leather upholstery
  • Power liftgate
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Blind spot warning

Should I Buy the 2024 Honda CR-V?

The Honda CR-V is enormously popular because it does so much right. It’s easy to maneuver and has a nicely composed ride. Space for both occupants and cargo is among the very best in the compact SUV class, and Honda includes many standard driver aids. Also working in the CR-V’s favor is its strong fuel economy, especially with the available hybrid powertrain. Our only gripe is that the CR-V doesn’t offer the same spirited handling or punchy acceleration that some competing compact SUVs deliver.

We purchased a 2024 hybrid sport touring last July 2023. We had been driving a BMW X3 prior to this car. So far I really enjoy the vehicle. It is not a BMW in terms of handling and engine performance. The upside is hopefully it will not cost as much to keep on the road as the BMW. Also gas mileage is pretty amazing for a large vehicle like this. Most of the time we average around 40 miles per gallon around town and 35 or so as long as we're not driving 75 plus miles per hour. The Bose stereo system is great, better than the BMW in my opinion. Even though the sunroof is not panoramic we didn't open the BMW sunroof because if it broke replacing or fixing it would have been three plus thousand dollars!

Showed up to purchase cr-v hybrid after working out the (out the door price) only to show up at dealer to a hail damaged cr-v after hour and half round trip, stood around the dealership waiting on salesman that was helping two other separate customers (15 min) or so which gave me time to check out the damaged cr-v.I bought from Bommarito before and was very happy. this ordeal was very sketchy.

  • Purchased a 2024 White CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid in

Purchased a 2024 White CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid in September 2023. 8 months in to driving it and 10k miles later, I can say with confidence this is the best car I have ever owned. This is the first hybrid I have ever driven, and it drives/glides ever so smooth compared to the gas cars of my past. The finish and tech of the Touring really feels luxurious and makes going on long drives something to look forward to. I average anywhere between 32 and 38 mpg per tank of gas, depending on how much I am on the highway. My lone criticism of this vehicle is how much it struggles to go uphill, so much so that I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone who lives in the mountains. I live somewhere relatively flat so this is not much of an issue.

  • Satisfied Honda CRV Hybrid owner

Since we have only owned this car for about 7 months, we cannot testify to the reliability. We are hoping, based on past Hondas we have owned, that this vehicle will be as reliable. The interior of the CRV Sport-L has everything we could want for convenience and comfort. We recently traded up from the CRV-Sport trim due to the increased comfort level of this vehicle. (Seat control and comfort, Automatic trunk hatch, WIFI apple play, wireless phone charger, Upgraded speaker system.) The car handles well for city as well as highway driving. We compared this to the RAV 4 Hybrid and feel that this model with all that's included beats the RAV 4 considerably by price. So far, so GREAT!

  • Sorry I bought this car

I absolutely detest this car. Its not as much of an SUV as it is a station wagon. I really do not like all the technological features. I hate the paddles that are on the steering wheel. I do not want me phone to attach itself in any manner to this car. You can keep Honda Link and/or car-play. Key fobs are also a joke. Do you know what its like that you can start a car because the fob in your respective spouse pants pockets. Or howabout trying to shut your car off and it wont let you because you leave the car in "Drive" with the brake hold on. You can keep all the "bells and whistles". All those things are is more money out-of-my pocket when they break. Oh, the tv screen is also something to behold. I refuse to drive this car into the city because it will get broken into to remove this "feature". Thanks for letting me vent. Now I'm off to sell this "thing". It only has 600 miles & I cant get rid of it fast enough.

  • Best Car Ever.

Well this was my dream car when I walked onto the Honda Dealership lot. I had a CRV about 7 years prior and really regretted trading it in. I am 60+ and a woman. I wanted a reliable car with good performance, great gas mileage and looked great. I feel I got all of those with this car. Having a hybrid is the best of both worlds. Saves on gas, helps the environment and doesn't have to be plugged in. It is super quiet when its just using electric. I love how the new updated exterior looks (I got it in "Canyon River Blue"). The interior is also very sharp and seems to have more headroom then my prior car. The instrument panel is great and the 9 inch screen shows just about everything you would need. Of course I didn't know that I needed the "wireless" cell phone charging (definitely do now) and the "Android Auto" feature is just great. It took a bit of getting used to the car telling me when I was too close to something or braking on it's own. I park daily in a multi floor parking garage and it definitely thinks it is a bit too tight in there (I agree). I plan on having this car for many years to come and feel confident that a Honda vehicle will last that long. I highly recommend this vehicle. Enjoy!

  • Some nice updates.

We have driven this car for 3 weeks. With the eco feature enabled we have exceeded the estimated city MPG rating of 43. MPG. We have not taken it on an extended highway test. Honda adjusted or updated several features that I didn't like from the 2018 model gas CR-V. The instrumentation panel is more intuitive. Android Auto works better. The interior material seems better and less likely to show dirt or wear. The cargo area is about the same as the gas models. The surprise feature is that no spare tire is provided. They do provide an tire inflator that can get you a few more miles closer to help if on the road. During a blowout, one would need to call for roadside assistance. Although in the last 20 years, we've had 1 tire related incident.

Only 4600 miles but we like the car. I had a little trouble converting from Honda Accords to the CR-V but have come to appreciate it. It handles much the same as the Accords.

  • beautiful but gas mileage is bad

It's absolutely gorgeous inside and out but paying extra for a hybrid just isn't worth it. the gas mileage is in the low 30's and this is coming from someone who's owned hybrid cars for the past 8 years and knows how to drive them for better efficiency. I'm pretty disappointed since they're more expensive than the regular crv's

  • A Nice Quirky Car That Averages 32mpg

Gets 32mpg in mixed driving, eco mode Overly complex, don't try to go through a car wash without reading the manual first! Dimming the panel lights requires eyes off the road, you'd better stop! Don't even think about storing it for more than 3 months, the high voltage battery will go dead. It must be driven every 3 months or less. It's very quiet and drives beautifully, so if you are a geek, or can ignore the complexities, a very nice car. I wish I had bought another Odyssey!
