Roomy Suv with good power and great looks

The SUV has a comfortable ride and very spacious and quiet. Seems very dependable and I feel confident driving this vehicle in all weather conditions. I wish it offered a panoramic sunroof and high quality sound system.

Interesting mix of old and new-school design

The local dealer talked me into having my CRV evaluated for a trade-in so I went and drove a Passport EX-L. I was attracted by the larger size, ground clearance and the more advanced, robust AWD system versus my CRV. I'm about 6' tall and the first thing I noticed was I had to climb in. Once inside, the cabin is very roomy -- much roomier feeling than my CRV. I do not like the shifter at all. It's not intuitive and it's just weird. I also don't like the weird armrest and would prefer a taller console with armrest top like on my CRV. The vehicle definitely feels a lot more powerful and the engine, compared to my CRV, is more noticeable when idling, however, it accelerates very briskly and with far more authority than my CRV. The controls, with the exception of the shifter, are easy to understand and operate. I generally like the foot-operated parking brakes, however, it seems old-fashioned compared to the electric parking brake on my CRV and, especially combined with the wonky shifter buttons, seems out of place. I like the comfort and space of the car and some of the details like the retracting window shades on the rear doors. I also like the push-button folding rear seats and the hidden cargo area under the floor. Although I'm not a fan of the MPG, it is a large vehicle and has 280hp so the rated fuel economy seems reasonable. Overall, I seriously considered the purchase and the dealer worked with me to get a very good price. The vehicle was stickered at $39,500, however, without negotiation, the price was cut to $34,500. Some factors that have kept me from purchasing: the mpg, the weird mix of wonky shifter and old-fashioned parking brake, I love my CRV. I also noticed that the tires that come stock on the EX-L have a low treadwear rating (400UTG). Why does Honda persist in putting on low-quality tires on their vehicles? Also, I think the Pilot is a better-looking vehicle that is better proportioned. By cutting several inches from the Pilot, Honda have managed to make the Passport look just like an Explorer or Subaru Forester; the Pilot is confidently handsome. The Passport, to me, looks like just another bloated SUV.

Great Pilot bones in a reduced size

Full size SUV room less a third row not needed by my wife and myself. Honda quality from the engine to the improved transmission. Handling, 360 degree visibility, all wheel to handle the snow/ice of northern Indiana, comfortable seats, roomy cabin, and a dynamite black forest green not copied by any other company.

Only owned for one day

We just picked the new Passport EX-L yesterday and we love the quiet riding vehicle. Yes, it is brand new but we look forward to years of reliable driving. We have owned several Honda's and we always have good luck with them. We always put at least 150K or more on our vehicles and the Honda's always treat us right.

Loving my new 2019 Honda Passport

So far, I am very happy with my choice. The Honda Passport looks great, rides smoothly and has all the bells and whistles I could hope for. I can't wait to use my automatic starter on the cold mornings.

Bells & Whistles Included

Purchased this vehicle in preparation for our family growing. I was pleasantly surprised how much technology came standard on even the EX-L model. Things like Apple Car Play, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist were all options I was looking at for vehicles we considered. Ultimately Honda's reputation for reliability and many of these features being standard led us to get the 2019 Pilot. The ride is slightly stiff but feels very similar to our 2010 F150 that we had previously been using on roadtrips. This will provide a great new option for those trips we love to take. The interior is spacious and comfortable. Each trip we take in it has been nothing but enjoyable and the vehicle feels more "luxury" than what we paid for.
