Turbo had to be replaced...Twice.

My Veloster was new, only had 20 miles on it when I bought it February 2014 (posting today 5/18/17). Did run great for a while, and then started noticing the drive was a little bumpier about 30,000 miles in (I drive approximately 100 miles a day to work and back). I've kept up with all oil changes and maintenance. At 84,000 miles, the turbo blew; car started making a whirring sound, wouldn't go over 60mph (and struggled just to get7 there). Exhaust blowing white smoke, checked the oil that was just changed by the dealership at 82,000 miles, and there is hardly any oil. I had the 100,000 mile warranty coverage, the dealership replaced the Turbo and few other issues. At 88,000 just this week - the turbo blew again.

Fun car for a while

I really enjoyed the veloster, it's not for everyone. It is fun to drive and it's nice having a vehicle most people. It's fun, responsive, good on gas, not great in snow, but it is a sports vehicle basically. It was fine with me, but eventually I needed something bigger and have moved on, it's probably great for the single person with little to haul.

Kind of Disappointed

I have a 2014 Hyundai Veloster and I'm kind of disappointed. I was hoping for something that wasn't so rough on the road. If you want something like that, this car is for you. I did get it used but it only had 10,500 miles on it, still new.... Right? I'm short so it works for me, but it's still pretty uncomfortable sitting in. Do NOT get this if you have younger siblings....

Veloster Packs a Punch

A life long lover of large cars and SUVs, I am super happy with my Veloster Turbo. Hyundai makes solid vehicles that withstand my rough driving. Averaging over 35,000 miles a year - I must have a vehicle that is fun to drive as well as reliable. The Veloster turbo fits the bill. Fuel mileage is out of the world and the Veloster provides quite a bit of pep! Great for inner city commutes and lazy Sunday drives!

Loving my Veloster!

I was previously driving a '07 Mazda and this was a huge upgrade! I like that Bluetooth and the back up camera come as a basic package. I love the look of this car. And it's fun to drive!

Love my turbo. It's a mini monster

The VT is boss. No doubt ... there's faster cars but most can't handle like this little beast. I put some Sumer tires on her and she wants to eat audis lexi 3 series and trucks. Best value no doubt I love this car. I daily drive her and it's all about synthetic oil and super octane but dang she goes. So much honey compared to the average bear!

Fun, fast, and practical

Found myself in my early 50's tired of driving mid-sized sedans. Wanted something fun! Something fast! Considered a muscle car, but rear wheel drive in Cleveland winters pretty much killed that idea, not to mention the added insurance costs. Low and behold, a new ultra-black 2014 Turbo sits in the dealer showroom in November of 2015. I'd seen them, though they looked cool, but didn't know much about them. Had them wheel it out and took it for a spin. I fell in love! Heated leather sport seats, all the gizmos and doo-dads I could want, like push button start, a nice big screen infotainment system, backup camera, heated mirrors. And this thing really likes to get up and go. The power curve is fantastic. Granted, I'm not going to be taking it to the track. I don't care if a GTI can beat it off the line or a Focus ST can beat it in the quarter mile. I'm going to be driving it to work, on weekend road trips, around town, and along the lake-shore in the summer. It's got more than enough power to get me into trouble. It's extremely well behaved and feels well stuck to the road. It gets lots of looks, even after being out for a few years. That front end is just plain menacing, especially on an all black car. We've had Kia's in my family for 10 years. I trust Kia / Hyundai. It's hard to beat the warranty. Oh, and it's good on gas! Runs well on regular! What more could one ask for?

Most reliable car but also bad car

I own a 2014 hyundai veloster. I have had 2 other hyundai's in my life & they have been very reliable! That is no question. But, this veloster really angers me! The door is too heavy to open( especially for women- the mechanics and designers were idiots for not thinking of this for the weaker people) and when you open the door to hard it hits other cars, and when normal/light it swings back and crushes your leg. Second of all, it is a wide car even though it is small. Finding parking in small spaces for this small car = IMPOSSIBLE! the designers should' ve put more thought into this and made it less wide, more comfortable, and the door less heavy. Besides that the engine, everything else, design inside is perfect. But come on!

Worst New Car I've Ever Bought

This car refuses to go straight. It's a "floater". It feels like I'm driving a motor boat on a lake. You can't relax when you drive this car especially on the highway. If you relax for a minute you'll be into the next lane. I feel like I'm driving a 67 chevy impala that needs front end work. It doesn't pull in one direction it just goes left or right depending on the mood of the car. It's not fast and gets terrible gas mileage. Also the "premium" sound system sounds cheap. My last three new cars were hyundai. My last car was a tiberon which was the best car I ever owned. This veloster is a disgrace. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
