I have been test driving cars for the last three to four months. I have tested the Honda civic 2013, Scion TC 2014 and Ford Focus St. I was leading toward Scion TC or Honda. The honda was very plan no power in its engine. The inside of the Ford looks like dated but it did handle very well-good ride. However, too small for my taste. However, 2014 Kia Forte surpassed them all .I know its a Kia (had to get my head around that) but its the best car in the small sedan segment. Best features and overall performance I am coming for a Nissan altima background which handls great. But this Kia is right up their in styling and it has a very luxury graded feel great standard features. I got the EX model. And I am very happy!!

Love the Car, we bought the the EX- Forte in May 2013 from Capital Kia Austin,TX. It came with NEXEN tires on it, within 2500 miles one tire developed a bubble on the side wall. Went to the Dealer and was told the tires were not covered they wanted $200.00 to replace it. So I went to Discount tire and purchased a new tire different brand, within 8000 miles second tire failed. The Kia Forte is a great car except for this paticular brand Tire that comes on it and this particular dealership that wont' stand behind their product.I will not take this back to Capital Kia for service.Great Car just ask for different brand tires before you purchase.

I have never reviewed a car before but felt that I had to after having this vehicle for 6 weeks now. I have had cars that draw attention before but not quite like this one. Everywhere I go someone stops me to talk about it. I did opt for the EX with the 17" wheels and it does not disappoint in any area. Ride quality and comfort is premium. All the options make you feel like you are driving a luxury car. And the performance for a sedan is the best in its class (do your research). At 175 hp it has plenty of pep. I installed a cold air intake and its amazing. The GDI is very throaty now and still quiet when I'm out of the throttle. Just had it on the expressway and hit 140 mph like it was nothing. What else could you want from a compact sedan? Oh...and the abyss blue is the color to have. My family now has two 2012 Rios, a 2013 Optima, and now two 2014 Forte EX. The Forte is amazing and so is Kia. Can't wait to get a 2014 Koup SX, it's next on our list.

Got the 2014 SX model and love it. After four months I am actually getting better mileage than rated, the NAV system is excellent (used it in both Canada and US). Dollar for Dollar, feature for feature this car is the absoluted best value in its class. Build quality continues to improve and will stand up to favourably to ANY competitor in its class... This is the fourth KIA I have owned since 2002... these are extremely reliable well built cars. Before purchasing I compared to Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Ford and Nissan offerings. They all need to worry... if too many people do as much testing and comparing KIA will sell a lot more Forte...

I own a 2014 Kia Forte LX with the upgraded package. I have owned a lot of 4 cylinder engines in my time but I am blown away by how well the 1.8L engine in the car responds. I have no issues getting on the highway or passing because the car gets up and moves. I am averaging 39mpg but I drive mostly highways. The 6 speed transmission shifts smooth, unlike some of the competitors! The handling is good but not awesome. I have owned 3 other Kia’s (Sedona, Rio & Spectra) and never had any issues with them. Kia had a rough start but they have really turned the quality & reliability around. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Bought new 10/29/13. Got the EX sedan in black. It looks SO good! It rides like a bigger car, smooth, very comfortable. It seats 5 adults with room to spare. The trunk is huge! With the 6-speed transmission and 173 hp performance is very good. When you put your foot down it goes, but to get instant, great acceleration, turn off the ECO. It seems to cause just a bit of hesitation, I love driving it and keep trying to think of reasons to keep going instead of heading home! 3 or 4 years ago I wouldn;t have considered buying a KIA since I have never owned non-american manufacture. But seeing this, driving it and the great value sold me and I am very happy!

I will confess that, for me, a car is a tool to get me from point A to point B. When I shop for a vehicle I aim for the best array of features at the lowest possible price in a package that has some curb appeal to me. The 2014 Kia Forte won me over with it's handsome looks and amazing value. I purchased the LX model with the Popular Package. The Popular Package raised the price by $1000 but provided a host of aesthetic and a few minor functional improvements that more than justified the increase. Favorite items from the package are the LED lights above the headlights and the upgrade to 16" tires and rims. The exterior is ridiculously refined looking for a car in this price class. The higher trim levels offered larger rims and additional tail LEDS as well as motorized exterior mirrors but this version captured most of the good looks of the EX model without the big price jump. The interior is not as striking aesthetically as the exterior but it is well thought out and has a couple of highlights. I was very impressed with the instrument cluster. The center digital display is very simple but it was color matched to the low tech analog displays on either side of it (tach and speedo). The end result gives a very uniform and appealing appearance. The other highlight for me was the instant mpg reading in the digital display. This is the first vehicle I have had with this item and it has immediately caused me to lessen some of the lead in my foot as I guiltily look at my mpg dropping every time I drive aggressively. This is not a performance vehicle. That is not to say that it is unpleasant. I actually enjoy driving this vehicle and I find the ride to be smooth and confident but it is not as sporty as some other vehicles in its class. This is also the first vehicle I have owned with electric steering and at this trim level I didn't get the multiple modes mentioned in most of the reviews. The steering is starting to grow on me and I think it is a smart bit of technology but it is a bit like driving with a video game racing wheel. Some of the feedback and dynamics of hydraulic steering are just not present. In conclusion I have felt that I have gotten way more than my money's worth. I have people compliment my vehicles looks and they are shocked at how low the price was in comparison to the features and styling. If you can afford the higher trim level and it's multitude of additional features then go for it. If you are like me and need to limit your budget then you can't go wrong with the LX trim but treat yourself to the features of the Popular Package.

Bought our 2014 Kia EX in November 2013.....we already have 9,000 miles on it and it runs and drives like a dream. Gas mileage is crazy-good and the engine brings power when you need it....we've cruised through the Carolina mountains a couple times already...smooth as silk. We just love it....our budget did not permit the Optima...but maybe next time because I'll bet those babies are REALLY fine. In a nutshell.....Kia did not disappoint....went above and beyond our expectations. even the experience at the dealership was tolerable :)
