Great car. Where is the XM radio? Not in the car

I really like the car and am glad I leased it. Fun to drive. Sporty enough after several Mustangs. Not big time like Mustang but cheaper and very good in its own right. Only problem is the car is not equipped and not optional for XM radio. May not be a big thing to most people, but huge to me. I never thought to ask assuming all cars had capability to connect. XM says alot of brands cut out adding the XM. Sounds like saving a few dollars because as I was told "most people use their own playlist or whatever but there is no substitution for having the XM installed. Can't even add it on. Stupid mistake. Still love the car.

Best Vehicle I've Owned Yet...

I had a 2017 Optima LX which I bought in November 2017, and I loved it. Then the 2021 K5 came out, and I was loving the pictures and reviews being put out. I went to the local dealership and test drove the K5 EX, and fell in love. I traded the '17 Optima for the K5 EX in early August. Two months later and I'm still impressed. It's a comfortable, quiet ride. I haven't experienced any of the nuances that others have pointed out, such as rattling and/or squeaking sounds. The K5 is the fourth Kia I've owned.

Unbelievably Smart Car

Amazing how many features are packed into the EX version at a very competitive price, my favs: electric panoramic sunroof , WIRELESS CarPlay, wireless cell charging with an ingenious phone holder, etc. Small 1.6 liter engine, but with turbo charging and 8 speed transmission it feels fast, smooth and powerful. The only trouble I’m encountering is crashing of the CarPlay which is likely related to the IOS 14 update.

My 3rd Kia

I’ve had a 2015 and 2018 Optima. I decided on K5 Gt line. It’s a very pretty car inside and out. More sporty than the Optima but better engine and gas mileage. I’ve had it a month and it’s going into the dealer for a 2nd time for couple annoying issues. There’s a squeak/rattle in the console /dash. The first attempt was told there was a recall and Kia knew of this issue. The other issue is the WiFi and apple car play. The WiFi goes out and screen goes black. Car play has no sound for phone calls. Even though I’ve done all the fixes I read about online, it doesn’t resolve the problem. Bit impressed at this point because I didn’t have these issues with CarPlay on my 2 previous Optimas.

Excitement reigns in my 2021 K-5! WOW!

Roomy, smooth, quiet ride and 42 miles per gallon on my first trip driving home from dealership. Classy style, comfort beyond belief, safety features make me feel secure, and controls easy to read, operate and reach. Wide view of prairies, skies and deer moving toward the road is enhanced by the way the windows are configured from front to side. Plenty of leg room and the sun roof rocks! Great value for the money. Turbo engine is awesome when you need power to get around big trucks on short stretches, and taking corners on winding roads is like dreaming. Bought new after I sold my 2016 Optima for a great price (I loved that vehicle too, but the K-5 is the BEST!). Gorgeous sporty design in a sedan that is first class, and every trip in this car reminds me that whatever moves you is worth giving everything for. True to their advertising, boring doesn't fly here!

Unimpressed

I drove the K5 recently. It was all rattle and the engine made a lot of noise even when revving at 1500 rpm. Ride was uncomfortable an plastics are worse than a chevrolet. No thanks

I prefer the Korean version

Test drive went well , comfortable interior quiet ride and handling a very good medium and very good steering.Wish there was a 360 camera which my 2017 optima has, a great feature. Also no automatic folding side view mirrors, an standard for years. the Korean version has A k5 that has features that the new Sonata has which I prefer.

Kia stepped up Big Time on the K5

This car has features my BMW didn't have and it drives great. Looks like an expensive sports car for less money. More bang for your bucks

K5 is a beast!

I'm totally and utterly in love with my K5. I have the 1.6L LXS. If I had to pick my top 3 things that made the K5 a worthy purchase, it is the following: 1) The huge, spacey touchscreen 2) The turbocharged engine that will safely and adroitly navigate you through the trickiest of traffic webs 3) The modern simplicity of the driver controls.

Kia K5 Well Done

Love the K5! The tech options are great. The car is great and drive smooth. Love the 4 different drive modes to try. Seats are incredibly comfortable and interior is sleek. Kia is now a true player in the aoto business. Quality product at a great price.
